Does anyone know why the cover of the Aunt Dimity books changed?

Yes, actually I emailed the author on this some time ago because I frankly like the old covers. She indicated that sales were down and her publisher suggested a change in art to try to get new interest. I think it's kind of bland to stir up new interest, but that's the style they went with. Apparently, the first book using the new art was in danger of not being published at all because of low sales, which is why they changed the art. Anyway, I'm glad she is still writing, but I hope they run some new artwork on her future books because these kind of remind me of the 50's or 60's and the others always had Reginald in the picture somewhere.

OK, thanks. I don't really prefer one style over the other. Just wondered why they were different. : )

Thanks for the update. I don't really see how the new covers would draw in readers, but I'm no publishing house marketer. Whatever...
I'm not a fan of the new covers, but definetly love the series. I always thought it was cute that the blue journal and reginald were always in the cover somewhere... until they changed it.

I'm with you, it's nice when the cover art ties in with the actual series and the journal and Reginald certainly achieved that.
My kids had fun looking for reginald on all the covers. Sometimes he was hiding a bit more, so he wasn't as obvious.
