Welcome to The F-word! Happy to have you as a member.

"This is The F-word at a glance" to help you navigate. If you have any questions please ask. By all means if you have any suggestions - good, bad or ugly please share.

I try to avoid sending out "mass emails" so PLEASE check ANNOUNCEMENTS thread on group page.

*I will send out email alerts when monthly group read poll is up for voting and anything else warranting importance.

We have a monthly (one) group read. Each member nominates ONE book either selected from our group bookshelf or from another form. Here is the group book criteria:

Books may fall into one of the following categories:

1-Written by a feminist and/or a woman
2-Plot looks at how gender, race, class, sexuality, ability/disability, ethnicity, nationality, etc. shape us and our views of the world
3-Spark conversation about social justice and gender equality
4-Have strong female characters

Please nominate your selection in the "NOMINATIONS for monthly group reads"
thread. I usually have the specific month indicated within the thread for posting nomination.

http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/1...

Nominations can be submitted anytime. Nominations generally close the 17th of the month. Poll posted on the 18th. Poll voting from 18-21st with results posted 22nd.

Poll can be located by clicking on "polls" on the group home page in the box on the upper right side.

There are various threads, so play around and see if you find anything of interest or any suggestions you want to toss my way.

I just listed the very basics of the group to help you navigate the group as soon as possible. We do have group discussions on the group read, of course participation is encouraged but by all means not mandatory. The thread for group discussions is very obvious so you won't be able to miss it, just ask if you need help in any way.

Feel free to copy this for quick reference. Or pass it on to aid prospective members.

Best,
~Mal
