I have been on Goodreads for awhile now but haven't joined any groups until I found Wild Things. I'm so glad to see so many people enjoy YA as much as I do. I am a mother of 2 boys. My oldest is 11yrs. My 'baby' is going to be 6yrs on the 12th of June. I have always enjoyed YA but recently started re-reading some of my favorites & trying to find some new ones for my oldest son. I read Everything they do b/c it opens so many doors to amazing conversations. From Dr.Seuss & Shel Silverstein to Lois Lowery & J.K Rowlings. My youngest boy, Aiden, still gets tears in his eyes when we read "The Giving Tree." And I remember 2 summers ago when my son, Jacob, asked me if it was silly to be crying over a book after he finished reading "Where The Red Fern Grows." I was nervous about posting a "Hello" but I figured...you can't make friends just reading everyone else's posts! I hope to continue getting ideas for new reads for myself from Wild Things.
Thank you for all the welcomes. I have enjoyed poking around the group. I'm so glad I found an interesting place to occupy my time when I am bored during my looooong 3rd shifts. Now I can read while I work..or interact w/ other people who read...only way it could be better is if a mobile library would come right to my desk! Thanks again for making me feel welcome.
