"Journey to the Middle Kingdom" is a graphic novel about three young children who are sent back in time by the Jade Emperor, king of Chinese heaven, to a fantasy world of Chinese fairy tales. They must race to save ancient China by making sure history happens the way it should.
To aid them in their journey, the Jade Emperor has granted them three magical calligraphy brushes. Whenever you write a Chinese character in the air with the brushes, whatever you write, becomes real.
Armed with their new powers, the three heroes will dive into the fairy tale world of ancient China. They'll take part in different stories, the first being "Legend of the White Snake Maiden." Each installment will feature a different tale.
I love the Chinese language and world cultures, so it's my hope that "Journey to the Middle Kingdom" will help spread the joy of the Chinese language and just be plain fun at the same time. The campaign launches October 8th on Kickstarter.
