I am really hoping that by the end of this year I would have read at least 30 books

Kathy Nguyen | 1 comments Hi I am Kathy. I am 45 and I love modern literary fiction mixed in with some non-fiction, particularly about water, the environment, psychology, and running. I love reading and hope to get 30 books read this year

message 453: by Ellie (new)

Ellie Brandt (elliembrandt) Hey y'all! A new member but have been on goodreads for awhile now. I love it! I can read anything and everything. Enjoy discussing books and stuff & things. I have set for my goal a total of 75 books for this year and I have read 6 so far, so 8% complete! :-) I don't like reviews with plot summaries or spoilers. I like peoples "take" of the book itself. I like to think I have a pretty open mind and hope to run across some people who enjoy talking about books.

message 454: by Luísa (new)

message 456: by [deleted user] (new)

Hey, I'm James. I've just joined the group (obviously, haha), and just actually joined Goodreads too, if I'm honest - though I've been meaning to join for a while now. I'd read pretty much anything I can get my hands on, but unfortunately, I don't read half as much as I used to, or as much I'd like to either. I have problems with concentrating and have trouble finding the time (I've been pretty busy with school work), but enough of the excuses! I've set targets for myself in previous years that I've given up on, but I'm promising myself I'm going to stick to this one this time round, so I'm setting myself the target of 25 books this year, and am hoping to read even more than that :)

message 457: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Pawlowski (jpsabresfan78) | 10 comments Hi everyone! My name is Jennifer and I am 35 years old from the Buffalo, NY area. I love love to read books! I get that from my mom. You never see her without a book. This year I plan on reading books I never thought I would read. That is my goal. I really want to read over 100 books this year and I know I can do it. Some of my favorite authors are Stephen King and Nora Roberts. I am always looking for new books to read. I am currently reading Under the wide and starry sky by Nancy Horan. I just started it this morning. Any questions, don't hesitate to ask me :) I am open book. lol :)

I'm Casey and I've been on Goodreads since 2012. I mostly read modern classics (have become a fan of Nabokov recently) but I've read my fare share of classics and bios.

message 461: by Jenna (new)

Jenna Hi! I'm Jenna, I'm 16 and I'm currently reading The Coldest Girl In Coldtown. I'm really busy most of the time with school, so I haven't had a lot of time to read, but I'm hoping to be able to come up with a goal of how many books I can read by the end of the year.

message 462: by Sydney (new)

Sydney (sydsawyer18) Hello everyone! I'm Sydney. I'm currently in college studying mechanical engineering which has been very demanding, so I tend to read a lot more during time off from school. But I am going to try to keep reading during this last semester. I love dystopian, post apocalyptic type books such as Hunger Games and Divergent but am up for anything good!

message 463: by Justine (new)

Justine | 1 comments Hi hi. I've just joined and I love reading comments on here. I've already discovered 99 new books that I want to read so it could be an expensive year! I'm married with two gorgeous boys and two lovely step children. I work part time and waste the rest of my time reading or, to my shame, playing World of Warcraft :)

I'm Abhishek. I've just joined in this group a couple of days back. I am a voracious reader, but due to slow reading speed I always turn up reading less than expected myself to do. This year my goal is to read 40 books and I've already finished with two of them. I want to appreciate the efforts of all the group moderators for making this beautiful group with lovely features such as "buddy reads".Great work guys :) Happy Reading :)

I love reading books about the military ('Thank you for your service' by David Finkel is my all-time favorite!) as well as fiction, romance, scifi and dystopian, but I'm always open to suggestions in other genres!

message 470: by Debbie (new)

Debbie Since I am brand new, I will say that I plan on reading 50 books this year, however, last year I made it to 75!
I LOVE historical fiction, time travel, horror and sometimes fantasy.
The Outlander series stands out as my most favorite of all time, but I also love Ken Follett and Kate Morton

message 471: by NancyMagaly (new)

NancyMagaly | 89 comments Hello! I'm Nancy and reading has been one of my passions since 3rd grade when my friend gave me a boxed set of the Judy Blume series. It was then that I discovered a whole new world and way of thinking that could transport me from my mundane existence. I do not stick to one genre, but have found I'm highly interested in historical romance, time travel, science fiction and suspense. I'm fortunate to have passed down my love for reading to my oldest daughter who now frequently surpasses my number of books read per week. And, I'm okay with that.
