Welcome, Elisa! Do you get any special library perks? Like getting to take home new releases before they shelve them? I asked the library staff where I live if they could do that, and sadly, they can't. But they can continue to check out books even if they have overdue books. (If they've agreed to let the library take the fines out of their paychecks.)

Cheers

I have a zillion interests, yet behind them all is reading, threading everything together.
Best wishes to everyone in achieving their 2015 reading goals!
Tom

Hi I am Karen I go by Kazzy on good reads, I love to read and setting myself new goals each year. This year is to read new authors and try different books. I read a lot of Paranormal Romance, Fantasy, Urban Fantasy, so I want to change it up. If anyone has read a good book please feel free to recommend:-), Looking forward to meeting everyone.

I love that scene from Pride and Prejudice! Everyone at works laughs at me because I read my kindle or a book when I walk and look the exact same way:)

Thank you :-)
Thank you :-)

I'm Pien, 33 years old and from The Netherlands. I've always liked reading but didn't keep lists. I love epic fantasy, classics (historical fiction/romance), some poetry but I basically used to read anything that I got my hands on. My intention is to add them all on Goodreads, but for now I'm just adding what I'm reading atm. I recently rediscovered Goodreads and with that ebooks and the wonderful world of audiobooks. Right now I found new (for me) genre's like urban fantasy. I usually read 2 or 3 books at the same time a " guilty pleasure" book, something classified as literature or a classic and something fantasy or sci-fi.
This year my personal goal is 100 books. I'm 3 books behind schedule atm so I have some reading to do. ;) I also saw someone doing an "Around the World in 80 Books challenge" which seemed really interesting.
I'm usually not someone who's very active on fora, but I'll try to better my life.
Anyway I'm rambling, nice to meet all of you.

i'm 22 years old, i share my life with two dogs that i 'own', border collie/pomeranian mix jamie and german wirehair pointer/english pointer mix flynn, several dogs (the number always changes) at my work place, an animal welfare organisation, and two cats, jenny and snoopy (yes, my cat is named after a dog ;) ).
i don't (and don't want to) have a favourite genre, i like reading many different things and constantly expanding my horizon. my favourite stand alone is probably every day by david levithan (i say probably because choosing only one is almost impossible). i don't know if this can still be called a stand alone though, since a companion novel is going to come out.
last year, i set my reading goal at 50 books and i completed the challenge :) this year, i've set it at 51 books, but i'm already at 32 in the middle of march, so i might have to bump it up a bit.
setting a goal of how many books i want to read in a year has really motivated me to read more but i still don't want to force myself to read and have it become a chore instead of an indulgence :)

I have a dozen books on hand right now... and yes, I love old books shops! They come in containers from the US and UK...from all the cast-offs of your bokshelves !

Since the university isnt swallowing up all my spare time with incredibly boring books anymore, I wanna try to get back to my tbr piles and finally read books that I like. I love sci-fi, fantasy, dystopian stories as well as books about politics, science and environment.
I'd love to discover new books and be glad for any recommendtions :) I'd love to join some buddy reads~

I used to hate book but this year managed to transform me into a bookworm. My most favorite genre is lgbt.
I have a strange obsession with romance mixes with horror genre, but somehow, those two genres don't go well together (usually)- and nah, not the vampire type of horror/romance. It's more of a...ghost, serial killer, haunted, infected horror/ romance type. The type that usually ended with everyone dead.

I'm here to read and discover new books.

Nice to meet you Cardine. Go to know I wasn't the only one who discovered reading again.

I think I wasted it. But from now I am going to read, read until I satisfy.

I am a voracious reader and reviewer. Check out my blog site
Views She Writes - WordPress Blog
I can be contacted for reviews or even general chat via my Goodreads Account or my mail ID [email protected]

I just start to read books again after long time, i dont read one. Now, i am ready for books that i've missed for past years. Try to catch up any recommendation novel i've missed out :)

My name is Eric, and I'm a fiction and technical writer. That can cause a bit of turmoil in my mind, but I deal.
I'm looking to start contributing to GoodReads in some way beyond just a collection for my book trophies (which I wasn't very diligent.
I hope to contribute a lot to this and other groups.

I am a 23 year old recent graduate with a degree in English. I plan to study Library Science in a Masters Program but we'll see.
I come from a long line of bibliophiles and my collection of over 2,000 pales in comparison to my father's 14,000, not that I'm bragging. (Ok, I'm bragging XD)
Anyhow, I'm really excited because I've always wanted to do the book club thing and challenges and whatnot and a virtual one seems really awesome.

I have one question that's been really bugging me that i'd love to ask - for the Reading Challenge, can you only read books you've never read before, or can you re-read old books to count towards your total?
