Stephanie LGW (xstephanielgwx) | 26 comments Sweet! I've had Let the Right One In sitting on my shelf for like 2 years, and I've finished all of my library books. Perfect timing.

susan | 17 comments I loved the movie when I watched it a few years ago, so I'm really curious about what's different in the book

Jess (jesmy777) I've only seen the original movie, but it's soooo amazing. I'm really excited to start this one.

whoa the ebook is surprisingly long. i'm still gonna do it but i didn't think it would be that long, my kindle seems to think it's longer than Life After Life

Leslie Salas (lesliesalas) | 2 comments I read this a while back - it's a long-ass book, but it's still a pretty fast read.

Antiloquy | 1 comments I read it back when the film was in theaters. I recall that in the film my order of sympthy from greatest to least was Oscar, Eli, then Hakaan, but in the book Oscar and Hakaan switched places. It wasn't bad.

Marie (fyeahmarie) | 125 comments I just finished reading it and I loved it. Very vivid prose, distinctive characters, gruesome imagery...this one will stay in my mind for a while. The vampire stuff is the least scary thing about it, tbh.

I haven't seen either film, but the Swedish version is in my Netflix queue (if the American version is there I'll add it as well). Do they address the (view spoiler) in the movies?

There is a short story available that clarifies what happens in the epilogue, since the author didn't want people to get the wrong idea. If you're interested and want to read it, let me know :)

I'm only partway through, but (view spoiler)

and ia, I've definitely been more creeped out by everything other then Eli's vampirism

Would love to read the short story!

And I agree, the vampire stuff is not the most horrifying thing about the book.

Marie, I looked under your spoiler since I've seen both movies (and have not read yet) but no I don't think they address that in either movie. Maybe the first is a bit implied? but the second no I'm pretty sure that wasn't in there at all...

I can PM you a link in a little bit :) The story is part of a book of short stories, and both short story and book have the same title.

I haven't read the book, but in the Swedish movie,

(view spoiler)

Heather (dokushoka) I didn't think I was going to enjoy this one as much as I did but I wound up really loving it. I'm looking forward to reading more of Lindqvist's stuff now.

If I could have a tiny gripe, it didn't exactly feel like a horror story to me.
