I put the quote back, and included the sentence in advance of the original quote as well.

Likes would of course be useful. And whoever the 'librarian' is who deleted the original posting, kindly give it a rest. Thanks.

MissJessie | 866 comments Perhaps this thread, now relocated, will address the issue.

MissJessie | 866 comments Well done to the 71 (so far) who have "liked" it. (Quotes, Otis double space Chandler.)

Sheila | 16 comments There is some discussion on this issue in the top thread in the quotes section. There is a question whether Otis is notable, as required to be quoted.

Also, it appears the quote that you listed Miss Jessie is currently attributed to a different Otis Chandler, who I believe was Otis's grandfather, who died in 2006.

MissJessie | 866 comments If Otis is not notable on GoodReads, who is? Founder, previous owner or whatever, etc. And given his many appearances/quotes/interviews in notable newspapers and conferences, etc., he certainly is well known.

As to the Otis his grandfather, that author is Otis^Chandler; our own dear Otis is Otis^^Chandler.

Why it is missorting is known only to GoodReads.

Sheila | 16 comments If you put a middle initial in the name would the system sort them better? GR Otis is listed with his middle name in many news article, probably to differentiate him from his grandfather.

MissJessie | 866 comments Good idea Sheila. I've changed it to add the middle initial.
