First matrix film refers to earlier version of Matrix which was perfect world but failed because of humanity's need to suffer. So seek books that have settings in which humans live in "virtual" perfect realities.

Sounds litterary difficult. If I was to write such a book, I'd put in some dark plot to make it work, I think.
