The only different I think is important is that they look tanner, which doesn't really help the whole pale white thing.

It's funny b/c a friend and I just got to talking about this yesterday. One of the main things I liked about Twilight was the Blue tint and I understood why they went with that tone. Possibly to translate Cold blooded Vampires and danger. I think that with New Moon maybe the warmer / gold tint is used to translate the hot blooded wolves and friendship. But I wish they would have swapped the colors because the blue translated (to me) sadness not first love. So gold or a warmer tone would have been a more fitting color for Twilight and Blue for New Moon because let's face it NM was depressing! But hey I am open minded and I guess both work well. So we'll see. I can say that from the trailer it looks as though the acting / script may have gotten better! I can't wait. Also I think that the vamps looking less pale is a good thing. They are suppose to be beautiful not Eddie Munster and sorry to say but in some shots that's exactly what Rob looked like. I hope they do better with the makeup. Make it more realistic. The Vampire makeup in Interview with the Vampire or True Blood are the direction they should take it in.
I think the gold tint is a great idea. The blue tint made everything look harsh, especially on the vampires. Yes, they are suppose to look undead, but at the same time they have to blend. A lot of the vampire flicks have used the gold tint and it worked for them. I think this new direction they have taken will compliment the book. I just can't wait to see it!
I totally agree with you Angie. They looked way to pastey.
I agree with Angie and Stephanie. Yes, they are suppose to appear pale, but they also do not need to look like they came from a year long Halloween party. It is difficult to convey certain things on screen. The makeup was a big problem they encountered in the first film. The blue tint and harsh fluorescent certainly did not help the make-up. Why would they continue with something that obviously wasn't working? I am just glad they gave this a lot of thought and not just thought of profit. Lets face it, we love the series, we will see it no matter what and the studio will still make a huge profit. I think with New Moon, the studio is doing a great job incorporating the look throughout their marketing. Plus I love that the new tint signifies Jacob.
i love the gold. the blue makes it so dreary and gives it a cold feeling even when its them falling in love. but i like the goldish even for new moon. it will be good for the warewolves
:D its like warmer, kind of like in the twilight when she was new its kind of scary and cold and when joining the cullen family it was like it was hard for them to ajust her being there with edward so she was kind of icolated, but now its warm like she belongs there with the cullens (if any of that makes sense lol its in my head but hard to explain lol)
lol it makes sense. Thats totally true, its a lot warmer than the cold blue. It kinda made it scary looking. The gold makes it seem a lot more like a home.

i never even noticed that. shows how much i pay attention to color schemes. i watched the NM trailer rite after i watched T, so u think i would have noticed. I think that the color relays mood and certian people. Blue is cold and Edward's skin was ice cold. Gold is warm and Jake has a temp of 108.9. so perhaps that's why they changed the tone. there is also a new director, so that's probably part of the reason for the change.

Hmm...I just watched the movie "again" but I think the gold is better. The blue tint is more realistic though. After all they are in Forks, WA. The Pacific Northwest, what can you say=)

The New Moon trailer and recently released stills from the movie have revealed that New Moon will not have the same blue tint that Twilight did. I’ve made the image above which roughly approximates the old Twilight look on one half of an image from New Moon and keeps the other side as it will be in the movie.
How do you feel about this change–do you think it is for the best, or do you wish it still had the icy tones of the original movie instead of the new golden look?
