Claudine's House by Colette.

Bob Kaufman (bobkaufman) | 681 comments Three Lives by Gertrude Stein. The stories were okay. The style was difficult with narration and dialog having a lot of repetitive phrasing, to the point of distraction.

I love the Lord Peter mysteries!

Overall, a lengthy but relatively light read. It is straightforward and easier to understand than some classics and made me smile at times. I also found it a little repetitive at times but I'm glad that I've finally read it.

It's a nice book, but I'm not sure anyone really needs to read this one before they die.

Debbie | 22 comments Agree. Very interesting, in-depth descriptions but not a 1001 need. Must be the quality of the writing not the subject.

Jennifer W | 251 comments Last list book I read was The Optimist's Daughter. There's not much plot, but her writing is fantastic! Wish she had more books on the list. 4 stars.
