Jacqueline | 28 comments I don't know when I'm going to start this challenge. Probably January? Don't know. Will post update when possible. . . so here it is!

Good luck me. . .

Month 1: Read your Birthday Month (Spell it out challenge)
Month 2: Read your Birthstone (Spell it out challenge) or read 3 or 4 books with covers that match the color of your birthstone or 3 or 4 books with the name of your Birthstone in the title
Month 3: Read your sign (Spell it out challenge)
Month 4: Read your Chinese zodiac sign (Spell it out challenge)or
Read your favorite flower (Spell it out challenge) or read 3 or 4 books with your favorite flower on the cover
Month 5: Read 3 or 4 books set in a country you'd like to visit
Month 6: Read 3 or 4 books from your favorite genre
Month 7: Read 3 or 4 books with your child or a friend
Month 8: Read 3 or 4 books written by some of your favorite authors
Month 9: Set yourself a personal goal to exceed the amount of books you normally read in a month
Month 10: Read one of your favorite foods (Spell it out challenge)
Month 11: Read 3 or 4 books by authors you've never read before, but have been meaning to
Month 12: Read your favorite Book Crush's name

And this is part 2!

Yes! Another year of “All About You, Part Deux!” Choose one of these a month and work your way through the year. As before, because this challenge is all about you, you can choose the order, you can trade out one monthly challenge for one you create. Have fun!

1. A nickname you go by - or want to go by! You know...Bunny, Snookums, Babe.
Spell-It-Out.

2. Read four books where the protagonist has your current job, your dream job,
or even your avocation.

3. Again, your favorite color. Only this time choose four books where your favorite color
appears somewhere on the cover, with at least one the predominate cover color.

4. Read four books from your favorite series. They can either all be from different series
or the same one.

5. Make of your dream car. If you don't drive, then use your favorite form of transportation.
If you want to find your mode of transportation on the covers of four books, go for it.
Otherwise, Spell-It-Out.

6. Birth Order. Were you born first, or sixth? Spell-It-Out.

7. Whether you love to play it or watch it, what is your favorite sport? Baseball, football,
hockey, the Olympics? Find four books on the topic, or Spell-It-Out.

8. Your best subject in school. Math, science, French, Home Ec? Find four books on the topic,
or the protagonist teaches or takes it. Or use the Spell-It-Out option.

9. You against the elements. Read four books total, one each with “earth, wind, fire, water”
in the title, or has a depiction of them on the cover, or is the subject of the book.

10. Your Kingdom: animal, vegetable or mineral? Decide on a kingdom, then choose something
from within that kingdom. Example: elephant, zucchini, quartz. Read only three books
this month. Or, you guessed it, Spell-It-Out.

11. Read your favorite media delivery system: Kindle, NOOK, Kobe, iPad, e-book, audiobook,
audio, iPod, paperback, paper, dead-tree version, etc. Spell-It-Out.

12. Repeat your favorite challenge month from “All About You, Part 1” .

Jacqueline | 28 comments Another challenge for me! This one has no specific time limit so here goes nothing! Start date- OCT 13

College, while not for everyone, is known for it's huge amount of required reading, and usually not reading anyone enjoys doing. In this challenge, we decided to take a spin on that reading list and let you earn a reading degree in the genres you want to read! Take a crack at PHD of Paranormal Science or try something a bit more broad and stop at a Bachelors in History. Broaden your reading horizon, try out some genres you may not have tried before, and most importantly read all those books you never got to read while you were in school!

For this challenge you'll be progressing through the various degrees at your own pace. Start out with your Associates Degree, move on to a Bachelors, Masters, and finally a Doctorate. You can stop at any level, but no skipping ahead! Below you'll find the criteria for each degree level, as well as a better description of what fits in each category and subcategory of the core curriculum. Now have fun as you start earning your first degree!

Degree Progression:

For this challenge you'll be progressing through the various degrees at your own pace.

Start at the beginning...

Associates Degree (7 books in all)
► Read 1 book from each core subject (7 books)

After completing your Associates, move on to get your Bachelors degree...

Bachelors Degree: (20 books in all)
► Choose a Major (read 5 books from any 1 subject)
► Choose a Minor (read 3 books from any 1 subject, not the same as your major)

After completing your Bachelor's Degree, you may decide you want to Master a specific topic...

Masters Degree: (35 books in all)
► Choose 1 core subject to master - read 3 books from each subcategory, read 3 books mixed and matched (any subcategory from that core group) (15 books)
♦ Note: Can choose the same or a different category from your bachelors degree

Already a Master? Why not get a Doctorate?

PHD: (45 books in all)
► Choose 1 subcategory from your Masters and read 10 books from that subcategory.

♦♦♦♦ CONGRATULATIONS!!! YOU ARE A COLLEGE GRADUATE!!! ♦♦♦♦

I'm in a group called NBRC (Nothing but reading challenges). It's where I get my reading challenges, along with this group. The next challenge on here is also from NBRC. Hope this helped!

message 11: by Jacqueline (new)

Jacqueline | 28 comments Since I've gone crazy about challenges, I've decided to go extreme on this one (mainly because there is no time limit). By extreme I mean when it says to pick one out of these words and spell it out, I'll pick all of them! (or most depending. . .) Good luck me!!!!

Category 1:
Favorite weather: Spell out your favorite season and/or type of weather!

Examples:
1. Autumn/Fall
2. Spring
3. Winter
4. Summer
5. Sunshine
6. Thunderstorm
7. Snow
8. Raining
9. Cloudy
10. Windy
11. Whatever other weather words you can thinking or would like to use!

Ex: If I liked Spring and sunshine…I would spell SPRING and SUNSHINE from the books I read throughout the year.

Category 2:
Favorite Genre: Spell out your favorite genre and/or read at least 5 books from your favorite genre.

Example:
1. Fantasy
2. Science Fiction
3. Paranormal Romance
4. Cozy Mystery
5. Whatever genre is your favorite!

Example: I will spell out the words HISTORICAL FICTION, and/or I will read at least 5 Historical Fiction books during 2013.

Category 3:
Favorite Author: Spell out your favorite author’s name and/or read at least 3 books by your favorite author. Or for extra fun go to www.literature-map.com , type in your favorite author’s name and read at least 5 books from a similar author listed.

Example: One of my favorite authors is KRISTIN HANNAH, so I would spell her name with books read. Or I would read three books by Kristin Hannah; Or I would go to the website listed above…the author I choose would be, Elin Hilderbrand. I would then read 5 books by Elin Hilderbrand.

Category 4:
Favorite Holiday: Spell out your favorite holiday and/or read at least 5 books related to your favorite holiday.

Examples:
1. Christmas
2. Halloween
3. Thanksgiving
4. Birthday (Yes, some of us think it is a holiday)
5. Anniversary
6. Valentine’s Day
7. Whatever holiday you choose!

Ex: If I liked Halloween, I could choose to spell out HALLOWEEN and/or I could also read 5 books related to Halloween such as mysteries, horror, cozy mysteries.

Category 5:
Favorite Sport: Spell out your favorite sport and/or your favorite sports team. To make it easier you can spell the mascot (ex: Tar Heels) instead of spelling out North Carolina Tar Heels.

Example: My favorite sport is football, so I would spell FOOTBALL and/or I could spell out my favorite team MOUNTAINEERS (college) or COLTS (NFL).
