What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

I would love to find one of my favorite early childhood books about an imaginative girl and her chubby neighbor, a boy. They play with a refrigerator box till it's ruined then at the very end another neighbor gets a washer and dryer leaving them the two boxes so they may begin again.
The book had wonderfull illustrations of all the fun stuff they did with the box. It would have been from the 70's or 80's. Anyone remember?
