I'm looking for published authors that either live in the Houston area or will be/can be in the Houston area Memorial weekend 2014, May 23-26. The Houston Comicpalooza is that weekend, and I'm part of the committee organizing the literary track and author panels this year. While I'm not authorized to make any promises or agreements, I am tasked with obtaining a list of interested authors.
My boss' last instructions were: Authors have to be published (indie or traditional), preference for panels will be given to authors who have paid Artist Alley booths, to my knowledge there's no 'pay' involved at this time (but last year I was on a panel with Jacqueline Carey!), and the tentative plan is that they want each author to get at least 3 panels this year, but that may be subject to change as we get closer. He wants fewer authors this year, but a higher caliber so that each one can get more exposure time. It's at the George R. Brown Convention Center in downtown Houston - special rates at the downtown Hilton across the street (which is Nice!) http://www.comicpalooza.com/
I've already paid for my booth under my pen name Jacqueline Patricks. Last year we had over 15,000 attendees! We expect even more this year! I gained some hardcore fans from this event, several whom chat with me on FB on a weekly basis.
