Melissa | 363 comments I was super excited about the two bags of books I bought at the library sale for $2 but when I started looking around at my shelves I realized they were full. After a little bit of looking around I discovered they fit perfectly between the closet door and the wall in my bedroom! I figured I can't put anything else back there why not a few stacks of paperback romances?

Do you ever find yourself at a loss to where to store your recent book finds? What kind of creative solutions do you come up with?

Mary | 208 comments First I had 3 book cases. Then I had 4 book cases. Now I have 5 and no more room so extra books go in my clothes closet! :)

Louise | 280 comments My husband tries very hard to keep the books in our home library. I've managed to fit in two layers + books on top on most shelves, some piles on the floor - and now piles on the ledge by our stairs - great place to put them :-)

K | 286 comments I have 3 bookshelves of yet-to-read books, a massive shelf of read books and now some of my yet-to-read titles of mine are taking up space on the floor of our computer room.

Vale (BooksAndTea58) (booksandtea58) | 8 comments I've never given away a book I liked so after I had fullfilled My three (little) shelves in My bedroom I decided to buy Two tiny bookcases that I put in the garage, so now I Don't have to worry about My childhood books getting lost :)

Kate (fictionalkate) | 7 comments I have a lot of plastic storage containers from the hardware store full of books all over my house and in the back shed - the plastic boxes are good as they're waterproof and won't let anything happen to the books I love but can't fit in my house!

Paulfozz I used plastic storage boxes too, but to pack away my dvd collection and free up some shelves. I try hard to avoid stacking books on the floor as I know it'll get out of hand if I do!

Thom Swennes (Yorrick) | 592 comments I was allocated a bedroom by my partner when we moved into this house. I promptly filled all of the walls with floor to ceiling adjustable bookshelves and moved in my hoard. In those early years it seemed that space would never be a problem but this was a physical impossibility. My collection has grown and grown but the room size has stayed the same. Eventually the end will come and other alternatives will have to be discussed and considered. So far my partner has shown an extraordinary talent for creating space and every time I think the limit has been reached, she rearranges and manages to clear up some more space. She is also a reader (but not as fanatical as I seem to be) but she loves me and realizes this is just part of what makes me, me. God bless her and all the husbands, wives and partners that bare the bookaphilia burden of their chosen mate.

Laura | 55 comments I have a little bit of wall space left which I could use for putting up more shelves. Whether that would be enough for the books I currently have piled up on the floor and desks, is another matter.

At the moment I am being very creative with my bookshelves, each time I say they are too full I manage to make room for more.

Lawrence | 108 comments Yes, I've been at a lost for two years now when it comes to storage space for collecting books. Therefore, I have purchased a Kindle Fire. Now I have more books on my KF than in my actual home library. I try to find my library books on Amazon to replace the hardcovers/paperbacks if the price is right.

Thom Swennes (Yorrick) | 592 comments Don't you miss the feel and smell of REAL books?

No, I don't miss the feel and smell of real books because I still have over a 1,000 books in my library. But when you run out of room you have to do the next best thing.....Purchasing an ereader or tablet! :o)

No no no. You've got it all wrong. What you really do is get rid of unneeded furniture, like the sofa and the bed. Make room for more bookcases. You can always sit and sleep on the floor, right? ;-)

Melissa | 363 comments I do use a kindle but I much prefer reading a book to an ereader.

Laura | 55 comments Ereader is never ever going to be the same as a real book.

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) I have a small closet that is the "book room." We are slowly building another room. When that's done it will be the bedroom, the existing bedroom will be the computer room, and I want to make the living room an actual living room with bookshelves as a living room/library

LOVE the bookroom, but yes already running out of room and have to stack some books in yucky ways on the shelves
