Miranda Coman (fenryr) | 12 comments I want a book that is like Through Wolves Eyes by Jane Lindskold, I want a book that has a main character that is female and either 1) was born/ lives in the wild, 2) forest savy (tracker, archer, jumps between tree braches, that sort of thing), 3)can talk to animals... if it fits ANY of the three categories I would like to know about it please. The more it fits though the better. I expessially don't want a whiney weak main character though, so keep that in mind! Thanks for whomever responds

I've also read Clan of the Cave Bears and Confessions of a Slightly Nuerotic Hitwoman and they both match at least 1 specification.

Not sure how closely this fits your request but... main character is a native american girl whose tribe has every young member go on sort of a quest into the wilderness on their own.Girl doesnt want to go since its lame and oldfashioned she thinks. Then she sort of gets stuck out there and has to learn how to survive (and she makes some animal friend)

Gerd | 221 comments Did you read the Wolfwalker series by Tara K. Harper?

I admittedly only read "Grayheart", but I really liked it, for one because it's a refreshing diversion from all those "special" and "chosen" characters we see these days.
Not a weak lead in that, but certainly a character who has to learn a lot of things (instead of just magically knowing them).
