This thread is to spill any fury or disappointment in the snail mailing system.

My UPS 2nd day air package wasn't delivered yet the website says it was left on the front porch. What I received was someone else's UPS package. So I called the UPS center to tell them they gave me the wrong package. I didn't get mine. I gave them both tracking numbers. An hour later, UPS left a message on my answering machine to say I left the wrong tracking number and that I did get my package.

WTF. No I did not. Idiots. How else would I know someone else's tracking number if I didn't have the package in my hand? Gah!

Now I have to hope this John Doe neighbor (the package I have) has mine and we can exchange. Grr.

Now, I haven't had many bad experiences with the mail, so my perceptions of the US Mail are a little sunnier than yours, Tanja. But you're talkin' UPS, right? I don't know much about them, either. I hear FedEx and UPS are in a huge war with the economy down, etc...probably would be anyway...I wonder if service is starting to pay the price.

I think somehow that FedEx and the mail service have joined together for some deliveries. I was tracking a package sent FedEx and the next thing I knew it said it was delivered to the USPS which delivered it to me.

My dog can recognize the UPS truck from two blocks away. He hates them more than anything else in the world.

Random: I think with the economic turndown, they are suffering. Let alone people not using mail as often as they used to.

At one point, there was a proposal to stop any US mail on Mondays just to save costs.

I thought they were going to Tuesdays or something so it wouldn't be two days in a row -- though two days in a row works fine in Canada.

Not sure what it is now. I may google if I get bored or insanely curious one weekend.
