I wish I could do that, lol.

Nyssa | 1569 comments No pressure! :) Steelheart is pretty good. I'm not sure why I'm dragging my feet on it. It is way too early in the year for me to fall into a reading slump.

I finished Mitosis as well. That was oddly fun.

Nyssa | 1569 comments My next read will be Swan Song by Robert R. McCammon Swan Song by Robert R. McCammon.

This will be the first Horror novel I've read in a very long time. Its usually not my thing.

MrsJoseph *grouchy* (mrsjoseph) | 3289 comments I'm not doing that! I don't read horror. Nope, nope, nope!

That was my initial reaction (if you remember) when the Horror thread went up at FoF! LOL
I'm seeing this as truly challenging myself!

MrsJoseph *grouchy* (mrsjoseph) | 3289 comments LOL, it sure is.

Nyssa | 1569 comments I may be experiencing my first slump of the year... I've found it very difficult to get into either Swan Song or Prince Caspian; both of which I am actually interested in reading (which is why I think this is a slump). So, I'm going to try and reboot myself (and help my series challenge along) with an MG read: M Is for Mama's Boy.

I really hope I can complete Swan Song before the end of the month though, so that I can fulfill my January challenge for FoF.

Nyssa | 1569 comments After trying for a little over a week, I finally decided to give up on Swan Song for now. I just couldn't get into it; I'm thinking its a mood thing. I plan to try again at a later date (possibly this summer).

Instead, I'm now reading A Nameless Witch by A. Lee Martinez.
I'm only 3 chapters (38 pgs.) in and I'm loving it.

message 63: by MrsJoseph *grouchy*, Resident Book Pusher (new)

MrsJoseph *grouchy* (mrsjoseph) | 3289 comments I've had to do that lately, myself.

message 64: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (quiltsrme) | 459 comments Looking at my prior years, this is my reading slump time, so I think that it may be somewhat common. This is also the time of year that I do marathons on DVDs. Got a get a start on that so that I can sell some DVD collections that I'll likely never watch again.

Mine usually manifests in Netflix or gaming marathons, but I've managed to avoid both this time around. :)

Nyssa | 1569 comments Two weeks feels like forever! That's how long it has been since I've completed a book. I'm still trudging along between The Silver Chair and Earth Abides. I'm not really enjoying either very much, but I don't want to put either of them down.

My plans for February now completely out of the window, I'm not sure what I'll read next - either The Sign of Four, Howl's Moving Castle, or Because of Winn-Dixie. I'm just hoping I can read 4 books in the next 10 days so that I can complete my February "Luuuuuurve N Stuff Challenge" over on FoF.

I want to finish up something, too. :( I have a bunch I haven't finished/haven't started.

I'm in one, too.

I've got Ready Player One, Fairyland and The Divine Comedy all open. The only one even remotely interesting is The Divine Comedy but it's slow.

I'm supposed to buddy read The Wizard of Oz and I don't even want to read it.

LOL! In general, I concur. :D

I hope I'm not going into a neither / nor funk, as I'm gonna read tonight. My arms are sore from pinball and no other games are grabbing me at the moment. If reading doesn't grab me, I may be in for some boring days until it resolves itself because gaming and reading are pretty much the only things I can do for long chunks of time.

Grab a nice cup of tea/coffee, wrap your arms up nice and warm, and read a short story or two. Hopefully, that'll get your reading juices flowing again.

I've gotta push myself on it some. The first chapter was...not a great intro for me and I am starting to notice that I am a worldbuilding nitpicker.
