Horror Aficionados discussion

Can anybody give me any names of some of HP Lovecraft's contemporaries? If not right from his time, then before or after him. After discovering Frederick Cowles (my mom's maiden name is Cowles and this is actually how I stumbled onto him) I realized that there must be others from that time period who have been forgotten about. Anybody know of more? Off the top of my head:

Robert Bloch (carry over into the modern era)
