I would like to meet Agatha Christie's Hercule Poirot and match wits with his "Little Grey Cells".
Although it would also be fun to meet Miss Marple, and solve a cunning mystery over tea while knitting by the fire!

Amelia Peabody from Elizabeth Peters' series. I would like to meet the entire family.

I would love to meet Nero Wolfe and Archie Goodwin.

I too would like to meet Armand Gamache. I am so hoping that this series will continue.

Lord Peter Wimsey. Although I'd probably be a tongue-tied, starry-eyed idiot around him. Brother Cadfael would be my second choice.

I would love to meet Archie Goodwin…and Sherlock Holmes (as played by Benedict Cumberbatch, anyway)…but Archie has been a real favorite for MANY years…read him all through my teens…twenties…thirties…still read him now…and still think he's wonderful…

I would love to meet Hamish Macbeth just to hear him talk and take in how the author describes him. Sometimes I think I am not picturing him properly.

I could gain a lot by hanging out with Brother Cadfael for awhile. But I'd like to meet Jessica Fletcher too just as long as I was guaranteed not to be the one to die when she's around (haha).

Great question! I would love to meet Alex Cross (James Patterson) and Jack Reacher (Lee Child). I would LOVE to meet the authors as well!

I want to move to Three Pines, buy Jan'es cottage, and have drinks and dinner at the Bistro with Armand Gamache--and his lovely wife, who I want to be when I grow up. Since I'll be living in a fictional world anyway, I'd invite Sherlock Holmes, Archie Goodwin, Nero Wolfe, and Hercule Poirot to join us for dinner--I'd want to be seated between Armand and Archie.

On another evening I'd invite Peter and Helen Shandy and the Balaclava President, Thorjeld and his wife siglinda, along with the Gamaches.

I would love to sit with Lisa Garner! As someone asked her "How do you sleep at night?!!!"

I've met Lee Child and he's a very nice, very funny man. Met him at Bouchercon in Chicago in 2005. I really liked him and really wish I liked the Reacher books, but I don't.

The only author I met was a science fiction writer. I am NOT a fan of science fiction. Forget his name.

I have read all the Reacher books. He (Lee Child) cannot write them fast enough for me!

Erast Fandorin, Hercule Poirot, and Julian Kestrel.

I started reading a Hercule Poirot novel, but could not get into it. It was written decades ago and I think the outdated language turned me off.

Sherlock Holmes, no doubt!

This is an interesting question to me, as someone with a background in law enforcement. I enjoy reading mystery / crime books but often I don't get a connection with the protagonist. For me I would have to say the Jesse Stone character by Robert Parker is the quintessential flawed cop.
