Aha, I wish! I think I'm just unlucky being in the south. Scotland and the north have been having a decent amount. The south just never have any!

we get snow in Tennessee but it doesn't stick and it melts. I guess cuz its too warm down here. LOL.

We get snow her in the Denver area, but it usually melts in three days. At the moment we are having a wonderful warming spell, about 68 degrees F. today and sunny. No need for Florida this week! Stay warm everyone in Snowland. :)

You know when there's so many books and you can't decide what to read because you want to read them all?

That's the best worst problem to have! I've been having it a lot this year. If only work didn't get in the way, I would just solve it by reading all day!

Going through my to-read list and seeing if they're in the library. Think I'm gonna have a good list!

My stack of unread books that I own is pretty close to hitting the ceiling, but I've been reading mostly library books lately. That's partly because I'm in more of a time-crunch to read the library books, but deep down I know it's mostly because I have no idea which of the dozens of unread books to read first. So yeah, I know exactly what you mean!

Hey all! I'm in need of an opinion...my hubby has booked a nice night away for my birthday tomorrow and I'm wondering if it would be too much for me to bring my stash of books? I don't want to send the wrong message, but I don't think I'll be able to refrain from reading all weekend either! Is this rude...or just practical?!

I'm sure your hubby will understand it, Kassandra. Maybe just take a few with you? For spare time and before sleeping f.e.

Whenever we go on vacation, my husband knows that I work on packing books before clothes. And I obsess over the books. Will we go and hang out at the pool? Then I need some light reading. It's a little easier now that I have an ereader, but choosing my books is always my first priority. My husband is used to it, I'm sure your husband understands that you can't relax unless you have a stash of books.

I'd bring the books you need, but only bring them out when there is spare time, because he wants to spend special time on your special day. :)

Alessandra, Melissa and Bella, you're right! Bella, it's so funny, I do the same thing when going on vacation. Even now, I'm thinking of the books and won't even think about the clothes until a few minutes before we leave.

Kassandra, I thought you and hubby were celebrating your birthday! Why are you talking to this lot?

Congratulations on your wedding, Sam. Wishing you many years of happiness. (This year will be my 25th anniversary.)

And I know your husband understands about reading- even on your honeymoon. My husband is more of an outdoors type. And one of the reasons I knew he was a keeper was that even on a beautiful spring or summer day, he would take me on an all day used book store tour.

Thank you all. We're in Thailand so I get to read lots by the pool, when we're not exploring. Bella my husband is very outdoorsy too. When he proposed he toom me to the top of the cliffs at Whitby (understanding my love of dracula), but it was also my 30th birthday so he bought me a kindle! (understanding my love of books)

Bella it's wonderful. the weather is great, always sunny and much warmer then England! The food is delicious, even my fussy other half likes it!

I just realized that a movie is being made of Dark Places - this is so exciting for me because I loved that book. I'm really looking forward to seeing how they pull this off.

Since I wasn't a member for the full year last year, this question never occurred to me.

If you read a book that, for example, fits a January genre category, but you read it later in the year, do most of you still count it against that genre?

Good Question! I'm finally getting to make some headway with Unbroken, which was the NF Group Read in January.

If you want it to count, it counts. These are personal challenges, so do whatever's comfortable for you. :)
