Becca (becka_anne) Oh good! I am going to cheat a little and read this when I finish work in half an hour - But that it because I am impatient and can not wait until tomorrow. Haha. I won't post anything other than my general initial feelings until late on 6th/7th though.

As soon as I finish Unwind I'll be here :)

Off to add this to the calender.

April robinson (aprillost) | 55 comments ok im ready this book. Read unwind in 7 hours...soo yummy. Made me think..

Becca (becka_anne) I found the same with Unwind April - I read it in two sittings (and that was only because I HAD to go to work - haha)

My copy didn't arrive yesterday so I am not starting until today after all!

Becca (becka_anne) So I FINALLY got Unwholly and Unsouled yesterday, and am about halfway through the book now. It is unbeliveably good. How are we all finiding it so far?

its really great, better than unwind I have to say. I'll finish it today probably

Becca (becka_anne) I think I will probably finish it today also. Just because it is such a good read.
I really enjoyed Unwind but this is much better, which is saying something!

It's so good huh !!! loves this book now got the 2nd and I'm so ready for it!

to me it was one of those books I carried everywhere, even to the bathroom, and also while trying to cook, my husband said that was the most quiet 7 hours ever !! lol but im waiting to read the 2nd one !! when ever u guy get ready Rebecca !

Becca (becka_anne) The second one is fantastic April - You are in for a treat. I think your Husband may say the next 8 hours will be the quietest ever - This one is a little longer (but much better) than the last.

Anima Miejska | 1698 comments I finished Unwholly yesterday, and I totally agree that this installment is better than the first one. It is not very typical for the second book in a trilogy or dystology to be that good :) Yesterday I started Unsouled and it starts equally well, I'm in 5% now. I hope to finish within two days as I have busy weekend ahead.

I don't know how I will survive waiting for the fourth book though!

Becca (becka_anne) I was just thinking I am not sure how I will cope with waiting for the fourth one. The two day wait for the third was enough for me!

April robinson (aprillost) | 55 comments where can I get a copy to download to my nook of

Rida Sajid | 195 comments Lol Anima I toally agree with you. I was afraid that it would spoil Unwind too but Neal Shusterman has wrote it even better than unwind. I hope Unsoulled would also pay justice

Savanes | 2107 comments I just started unwholly. I'm expecting a really good time considering all your comments! :)

April robinson (aprillost) | 55 comments I just started Unwholly also. Hope it's as good as the first one ! :)

ElvenRaven | 244 comments Wow, I'm almost halfway through, so far I like this one better than the first. It's more complex and it feels more real.
Also, the extracts at the beginning of each part are just plain scary...

Cin the extracts of Usoulled are scarier.

ElvenRaven | 244 comments Just finished! Aaaand it's 2.30 am, so I'm getting in bed right now. This book was so gripping!

Becca (becka_anne) What was your favorite and least favorite part Cin?

How did everyone feel about the book after the first 50 pages?

By 50 pages in, I knew this book was going to be gripping and exciting book. Probably the most exciting I had read in a while.

I was upset at the breakdown in relationship between Conner and Risa but could understand both their anger.

How does everyone feel about Hayden and Starkey in this book?

My least favourite part was when NS made a whole big deal about Risa being blackmailed. It was pretty obvious and I think he wasted a good few chapterss on it.

Except for this part I found it fantastic and I dont think there is breakup between Conner and Risa cz Risa likes Cam as a friend not as a lover.

Starkey is the best villian in this story:) Love him for that. And as for Hayden, I didnt consider him important in Unwind but he turned out to be a great character in next two books

ElvenRaven | 244 comments Rida wrote: "Cin the extracts of Usoulled are scarier."
Really? Oh boy... the extracts made the book feel more real to me, Unsouled is going to be tough then.

ElvenRaven | 244 comments Rebecca wrote: "What was your favorite and least favorite part Cin?

My favourite parts were (view spoiler)

My least favourite part was (view spoiler)

50 pages in, I already knew I wasn't going to get any homework done because I just needed to keep reading! LOL

Hayden... I quite like the character but we didn't get to see him much in these first two books, I hope he develops more in the next two.

I disliked Starkey from the start, but that's the thing about this book, the characters are so realistic that even with the "bad guys" you can't help but feel some degree of sympathy towards them. I mean, he was an outcast all his life, can you really blame him for trying to rise above? But then, he's deceptive and treacherous, and power-hungry. Could we blame his upraising and life experiences for all the decisions he makes?
In the end, he's a difficult character. We'll have to see what happens with him and his group of storks in the next books.

Becca (becka_anne) Cin - I agree with you on the least favorite part - That was probably the worst bit of the writing for me. Although it was still to a high standard.

I also like that bit about Miracolina - She is a lovely character, I hope we see more of her in the fourth book (she isn't in the third)

Rida - I know they dont 'break up' but there is a break down in relationship between Risa and Connor because he is so busy at the graveyard and I think she is conflicted about being in a wheelchair. It must be hard for someone as independent as she is, especially knowing that there is a cure!

Becca (becka_anne) Starkey makes a great villian - And I definietly agree that I feel sympathetic towards him (though it's harder to feel sympathetic after the third book!)

Do you think Connor treating Starkey differently in the Graveyard would have made Starkey's actions change? Was there any way for Connor to stop Starkey from becoming the villain?

ElvenRaven | 244 comments Rebecca wrote: "Starkey makes a great villian - And I definietly agree that I feel sympathetic towards him (though it's harder to feel sympathetic after the third book!)

I'm not sure, but I don't think there's anything Connor could have done. Starkey was always ambitious and cunning, and he knew how to play everyone to his advantage even before he got to the Graveyard, when he was in the safehouses. To him, Connor never was a leader but a dictator to overthrow, and when he couldn't do it he destroyed the whole Graveyard.

Becca (becka_anne) Do you think that by allowing the stork's special time Connor encouraged the Stork club, and therefore Starkey?

ElvenRaven | 244 comments Rebecca wrote: "Do you think that by allowing the stork's special time Connor encouraged the Stork club, and therefore Starkey?"

Yes, I think he did exactly that. However, I get the feeling that even if he hadn't someone so manipulative as Starkey would have found another chance to form an elite of trusted kids.

What do you think about Cam?

Becca (becka_anne) I agree with you their, I think Connor knew Starkey was a threat but decided to try and win his confidence and trust rather than alienate him. And it seems to have backfired.

I was unsure how I felt about Cam - I think he will become an incredibly important character in the future.
However, Cam's existence confuses me. Th fact that he is 'rewound' and all his parts are basically cherry picked to be the best is a little disturbing. But I suppose he can not help how he was created, as much as any of us could help which parents we are born to.

His character is interesting, and the fact that he has memories and characters of the unwinds he is made of is very interesting.

Rida Sajid | 195 comments Rebecca I hink its natural. Risa was a girl who was independent and busy her whole life and now she was paralysed with nothing much to do. and as for Conner, this was first ime in his life when he actually got some job to do and he was trying to make every effort he could. So yeah there was a breakdown but such breakdown do occur. Happened to me. Lol :)

Rida Sajid | 195 comments Rebecca wrote: "Do you think that by allowing the stork's special time Connor encouraged the Stork club, and therefore Starkey?"

Yes, this is Conner's fault. He gave devil power but he was too tired with everything. All the time he was focussed on Trace, ADR and Proactive Citizenry that he couldnt see starkey as a threat.

I agree with Cin. Its not Conner's fault. Starkey would have done the same if Conner would've made him his best bud.

Becca (becka_anne) I think that Connor could not have stopped Starkey, therefore the Stork Club can not be his fault. It could be argued that in allowing Starkey such freedoms he encouraged the others to hero worship Starkey though, which means that his followers are more supportive.

message 40: by Rida (new) - rated it 5 stars

Rida Sajid | 195 comments I admit that he couldnt have stopped him but the freedomm of making Stork Club acted as a ctatlyst.

Jad Alhadad (JadAlhadad) | 3 comments Writing a story which talk about love isn't easy.. As I'm sure the writer talking about his-her experiance in love .. , and the feelings inside the lovers , the confusion that happen between the mind and the heart everysingle moment.. Welldone!:)

ElvenRaven | 244 comments Rebecca wrote: "But I suppose he can not help how he was created, as much as any of us could help which parents we are born to. "

My thoughts exactly!

ElvenRaven | 244 comments Is anybody interested in doing a buddy read for UnSouled? It'd be great to discuss it with you guys :)

message 44: by Rida (new) - rated it 5 stars

Rida Sajid | 195 comments Cin I've already rad it and UnStrung too. But I'll be glad to join discussion with you

Anima Miejska | 1698 comments I've started Unsouled, but other books dragged me away, but I hope to come back to this book at the end of the week. I would love to have a buddy read on that one as well!

Becca (becka_anne) I have already read Unsouled, but would be happy to join in and discuss it with you all anyway!

Becca (becka_anne) Rida wrote: "I admit that he couldnt have stopped him but the freedomm of making Stork Club acted as a ctatlyst."

I think you are correct with this. Although if Connor could have found someway of ruining Starkey's reputation what happened may never have happened.

Anima Miejska | 1698 comments When it comes to Stakey, I think that he would be able to turn this action of ruining his reputation against Conor all in all. He seems to be very skillful in turning almost every event into his advantage.

Anima Miejska | 1698 comments I really liked Miracolina, she was true to herself through the story and her actions were honest no matter how difficult it was for her. I hope she has some future with Lev.

Cam is an intresting character, he seems to evoke various, sometimes conflicting emotions, I felt sorry for him at the beginning, but later, especially looking at him through Risa's eyes I decided that he was a positive character. I'm only worried with his obsession about Risa, in the next part it may backfire.

I really hope to meet Hayden in the next part as well. He was one of my favourite characters in this installment. Brave, clever, considerate and definitely devoted and loyal to Connor and The Graveyard, he finally turned out to be extremely serious person.

And I definitely third the creepiness of all those press announcements and ads, it add greatly to the atmosphere of the book and flavoured it with extra fear and feeling of reality.

message 50: by Rida (new) - rated it 5 stars

Rida Sajid | 195 comments I hope to see Miracolina in 4th book too. She is smart and loyal. And as for Cam somehow I get the feeling that he'll turn evil due to his obsession with Risa. Hope it wont happen
