Robert Kratky (bolorkay) | 342 comments Hi,
I guess because of the t.v. series, "Sleepy Hollow" I've been trying to locate a copy of Washington Irving's story.
And yet, as I search Amazon for instance, I notice that many of the editions of "Legend of Sleepy Hollow" tend to be either abridged or "children's editions". So my question is, are there any editions of Irving's story (either individually published or in collections) that can be found in an un-abridged form?

Jenn (ace-geek) I recently read this: The Legend of Sleepy Hollow and Other Macabre Tales

As far as I know the version in that book is un-abridged, but you should still probably double check before spending money on it.

Cathy | 177 comments I'm sure it's readily available. I recent reread it as an ebook and that was clearly the original text -- looking at amazon, I see this very nice Dover Thrift Edition for a mere four bucks: http://www.amazon.com/Legend-Sleepy-H...

Have you a Kindle? I found Rip Van Winkle and The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, in one volume, for free.

Rob Blackwell | 1 comments For the record, I created a free unabridged version of "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" on Smashwords. My books also feature the Headless Horseman and I was annoyed I couldn't find a free version of the original story on Amazon. I wouldn't pay $4 for "Legend," it should be free.
Here's the link for "Legend of Sleepy Hollow": https://www.smashwords.com/books/view...
It should work with any e-reader.
