Hi Kathleen, thanks very much for reading Generation and taking the time to comment. I'm really pleased you enjoyed the read.

What genre do you describe it as William? I wasn't sure if it was mystery or crime thriller or something else? I did shelve it for zombies :)
I really liked Aitch, found him really likeable and down to earth and particularly liked the dark past/demons angle. I also thought Debonfort was a nicely written calculated and cold corporate baddie.
Really enjoyed it!
I was wondering about the research that must have gone into it, particularly the entomology and medical parts? I have a b/ground in science so that part of the book really appealed.

As for the zombies, well, yes, I suppose that's what they are! But I was very careful not to use the Z word in the book and it's certainly not a Z-apocalypse.
Locked-in syndrome, or coma, might be a better way of thinking about the poor victims and I tried really hard to make the situation believable rather than fantasy.
I spent weeks pouring over medical books, reading up on post-mortems, forensic science and entomology. So much so that after reading about the insect colonisation of dead-bodies and the decay process I had nightmares! There are some dark corners of the internet!
So thanks for reading. There is a follow up planned for this year, Aitch returns to take on political interests that have (once more) ignored the science.
regards
William
