P.A. Henley (PAHenley) | 1 comments Fantasy, hands down fantasy is my fave genre to read :) next to that is poetry.

George McNeese I don't have a favorite genre to read. I try to read everything. There are some books I tend to stay away from.

Sonya Ray (sonya_ray) | 2 comments I enjoy reading paranormal, but not limited to paranormal. The same with writing.

Heidi Parton (somethinglooseknit) | 8 comments Lately, I've been reading mostly literary fantasy (Mythago Wood is my current read), but my top favorite genre (if it can be called a genre?) is Japanese Showa period novels -- books like Masks by Fumiko Enchi and Snow Country by Yasunari Kawabata. Japanese literature from the 1920s-1960s is so inspiring to me, with its understated elegance and intense subtext.

I like to both read and write Science Fiction--the "hard" Science Fiction that relies at least partly on science and advanced technology to enhance the story. But it can also be a story set in the past or present time if SF is a part of it and it has a great storyline. Whatever I read must also have solid characters--not the cardboard stuff. Alternatively, I like good Historical Fiction, and some crime novels.

Belle Blackburn | 7 comments I think I read a lot like Deanna minus the gothic and fantasy part. I do read Diana Gabaldon's books and they have time travel so I guess I do read a bit of fantasy.

Ken, I have never read a science fiction book in my life and find it interesting you read and write that and still like historical fiction (but glad you do!).
