48 chapters again (not counting prologue/epilogue), so 10 again?

Wow, those 10 chapters took foreeeevvvvvver.

The beginning of this one seems clunky and repetitive to me. After loving the last one SO HARD, I don't mind a 'meh' book, but I am definitely feeling 'meh' so far.

You guys?

oh, and the psy absence certainly isn't hurting the 'meh'.

I am feeling the same way, Alyssia. I hope tomorrow is better.

It feels like we're already at the repetitive filler stage, and I usually don't expect that to show up until much later.

Shine Foundation is one of my favs though. it is where my series boyfriend works :3 Tally and Clay are quite the angsty couple. This book seems more like a generic romance plot between the characters.

I agree with you all that this is pretty generic/repetitive romance, but I like the shifters more than the Psy, so I think I will like this one. I love anything shifty :) Though the snakes creep me out a bit. Plus I love Clay's dark angsty self.

This is the first time snake shifters are mentioned. I hope their is no romance with a snake shifter I couldn't handle it.

I have a book somewhere on my Kindle with a snake shifter, but I haven't gotten around to reading it. It was a freebie I picked up specifically because I'd never read anything with a snake before.

I can't imagine how scary it would be to wake up it a strange place with strange people.

I like the cop. They are killing children and taking their brains. WTH! Is it the Psy? Are they experimenting with the brains?

My guess is that the children are (view spoiler)[human/psy hybrids and they are experimenting on them to try to find a way to make the "perfect" person/Psy. Trying to figure out what it is that makes them so good at their talents. The Psy I'm sure see them as abominations so it is no problem to kill them. (hide spoiler)]

So what are you all thinking now? I think I like Talin better than the other females thus far because she has bite to her. Though I think Vaughn is still my favorite cat.

I agree. She is my favorite female so far. I am on the fence about male character.

I have bad news ladies. I have surgery 11/26. I have more extensive damage than they thought. I will be in sling about a month and on the couch till February. YAY! Next will be my last buddy read for awhile. I will miss y'all.

Clay's attitude is getting on my nerves. He blames Talin for her having sex with other men but was he celibate?

I hope your surgery goes really smoothly. They are not fun. many good vibes.

I think Clay is really weird about a lot of things about Tally. He's like super possessive and stuff about her. but soooo angry about soooo many things that she can't control. It's not like she can change how she reacted to seeing him murder someone. and she's not a changeling, so of course she's gonna react differently than a changeling would to someone killing for her.

So I was thinking after reading today's chapters that I really, really, really hope Dorian doesn't get hooked up with Aleine...but he apparently does. I have to say I'm a little disappointed. I'm a little bit in love with D and want someone better for him :/

Santos is going to be an interesting character to get to know. I am liking Ashaya. She has more going on than we know.

I'm fine with that. Dorian is up. Yes!

What did people think of the Forgotten? They are my favorites. Even more than the psy (gasp of surprise! See I did that for you cause I could tell how surprised you'd be by that) I love how unique they each are and how xmen their abilities are. Xmen are the coolest.

I think the Forgotten are interesting, especially their mutating abilities. I love that the Psy think they are so superior that they don't even bother with all the 'lesser' species. The just sit around thinking they are gods and the world is moving on without them.

I'm curious to see what the addition of Faith's father to the counsil does.

X-men rule! I like the addition of the Forgotten. It will bring an interesting twist I think with future books. I still think it will be cool if Faith's father turns out to be the ghost.

This book really disappointed me and it took me forever to finish.
Tally is super lame. Clay is not much better. The Forgotten are interesting, but I don't love them the way Gwenn does. But maybe they will grow on me.

Usually, I love trauma and incest and sexual horror stories (which sounds sick, as I type it, but whatever). I just really didn't like the way Tally's backstory was handled or the way it resolved. I felt like there was a ton of filler and that the relationship drama between them was forced and tedious and went back and forth, repeating ad nauseum.

It got better when Dorian and Judd became a bigger part of things. And Kaleb. ;D

I am looking forward to Dorian's book. And Mercy's. Gwenn gave me a sneak preview, so I am excited!

Thank you. It is up to y'all. The week of surgery I don't see me reading too much. Hopefully the following week I will be able to get back to reading. I have them on audio and it is easier for me that way.

Audio books are awesome. You are much braver than me though, I don't think I could handle romance books n audio. I blush far too easily.
