Michelle Ilenich I really just want to know what you guys thought about the ending. Did you think the ending was good? It felt a little too open to me.

chinami tragic but prudent

Shas Im satisfied with the ending. Really overwhelming. It was realistic. I understood Abel.... He was desperate. It was the perfect ending. Not really too open it was just.... unfair, like the real world... but it also was the right thing to happen, in some strange way. Life is not always a fairy tale... and not all endings are the happily-ever-after type. life is not like that.

Im still shocked.

I totally agree. It made sense to end that way, and Abel was just thinking about his sister. I cried really hard.

Shas Yeah. Im not the crying type and I cried with this book.

Jelly224 The ending actually surprised me ALOT. I didn't think he would do that. I get that he made sure she had somebody to be with but I didn't think he would kill himself. It really shocked me on a whole new level. And boy did I ever cry sad and surprised tears.

What I don't get is why Abel had to go around killing these people who would separate him and Micah...when he was going to be 18 in a few months anyway, in which he could be her legal guardian.

That's why they were going to take her before he turned 18. He thought that wasn't fair so he did what he had to do.

That's right! I get it now. So tragic though. it broke my heart how he said "Anna" right before he killed himself!

message 11: by Cid (new) - rated it 4 stars

Cid know it's an old topic, but I just finished reading, and honestly whole book is so original reading piece I had similar expectation for resolution, and original *theory about culprit and motive (read here https://www.goodreads.com/review/show... )
surprised it didn't prove true, but agree, ending is quite open,,, :))
