Since you enjoyed that one, I recommend The Bronze Bow by the same author.
I am reading The Valley of Fear by Arthur Conan Doyle.

Actually, Rosemarie, it was my wife who previously read and enjoyed The Witch of Blackbird Pond . But I'm sure that I'll like it too, and I'll keep the title you mentioned in mind. Thanks for the recommendation!
Since I've read and liked all of Doyle's Holmes novels, I'll be interested in your take on this one. I read it as a kid, so it's been awhile. :-)
I didn't like it as much as the others, but I did still enjoy it. My favourite of the novels is The Sign of Four.

My favorite of the four was The Hound of the Baskervilles. Of course, I'm a sucker for the whole Gothic tradition, and that's easily the most Gothic novel in the Holmes canon.

I Am a Cat: Three Volumes in One - Sōseki Natsume
The Count of Monte Cristo - Alexandre Dumas
Heidi - Johanna Spyri
Wagner, the Wehr-Wolf by George W.M. Reynolds
Thomasina - Paul Gallico
Penny Dreadfuls: Sensational Tales of Terror by Various authors
All of which I am enjoying tremendously.
I'm also reading

Oh yes! and reading through it the familiar words wash over me and i feel 8 years old again!

The other book I'm reading to myself. It's

Next up, though, will be a book that does have a link: a review copy (or, at least, I'm prioritizing it like one) of

I have just finished the last Sherlock Holmes book by Arthur Conan Doyle, The Case Book of Sherlock Holmes. I am not planning to read any of the newer stories by other authors. I don't think they would have the same atmosphere.

Speaking of reading to Barb in the car, we've started a new car book: on the heels of finishing the second volume of Mary Connealy's Sophie's Daughters trilogy, we've started the third book,
