A World Without Sun discussion

Aaron packed only the stuff he really needed. It wasn't much. He just had one bag.

By now Chloe was an expert at quick packing, and that she hadn't unpacked from her earlier attempt of leaving. She sat down stairs with Lily putting a backpack on the little girl.

Aaron met Chloe halfway between their rooms. He looked at both of them. "Ready?" he asked.

"Yea." Chloe nodded.
Lily grabbed Aaron's hand, "Where we going?"

"Somewhere else." Aaron said, holding on tight to her hand. "Anywhere else."

"Okie." Lily nodded.

Aaron walked downstairs. His parents were still sitting there. As he came down, his father quietly pushed something into his hands. "You can get the money whenever you like." he said. "All the information and proof is in this."

Chloe came down and went over to Aaron's mom.

Aaron swallowed. "Okay." he said roughly and as an afterthought, "Thanks." his father nodded. His mother looked down at Chloe. "Take care of him." she said softly so Aaron wouldn't hear.

Chloe nodded, "I will. He's helped me a lot. Why are you leaving though?" she asked

"It's work-related." his mother said. "You wouldn't understand." she put a hand on Chloe's shoulder. "Tell him that it's not his fault we're leaving....when he's not so angry."

She nodded, "I will, but I can't help him if I don't know what to tell him."

His mother just patted her shoulder and looked at Aaron. He was already picking up his bag again and was getting ready to leave.

Chloe sighed and gave his mom a hug before going over to him, "Ready?"

"Yeah." he said avoiding looking at both his parents.

Chloe took the hand that wasn't holding Lily and pulled him with her outside.

Aaron could feel a burning sensation at the back of his throat and fought to keep from crying.

Chloe led him about a block away and to a bench and sat down. "Talk to me Aaron."

"Again?" he said, almost smiling. "There's nothing to say now."

"Then tell me how your feeling." she said, "I know your mad but you could have said good bye to your parents."

"I didn't want to say goodbye." he said "I'm really mad t them." he sjook his head. "You wouldn't understand."

Chloe sighed and frowned, "I don't understand because no one is explaining anything to me."

"I'm just really angry at them." he said "And that's all that's there to it. Now I've got you into my mess too."

Chloe sighed, "Don't worry about me." She rubbed her temples, "Let's just find an apartment."

"Okay." Aaron got to his feet and hugged her quickly before starting to walk ahead.

Chloe stood and followed behind him but keeping her distance.

Aaron turned around to look at her. "Where do we start?" he asked.

"Newspaper?" she shrugged.

"Do you have a newspaper?" he asked.

She shook her head, "We can buy one, their not that much."

Aaron nodded, looking around for a newspaper stand.

Lily pointed one out to him, only because it was near an ice cream stand.

Aron walked over to it and bought two newspapers.He handed one to Chloe.

"Thanks." Chloe said taking it and going to sit on a bench.

Aaron sat down next to her and scanned through the advertisements searching for something good.

Lily pointed to random apartments on his page, not sure what they were looking for but she just wanted big and pretty.

"That's too big." Aaron said with a smile. "Even if we pool in all our money, I doubt we'll be able to afgord it."

"oh." she nodded and pointed to a affordable 3 bedroom apartment.

"That seems okay." Aaron said. "But it still looks too expensive."

Lily groaned, "this is hard."

"It is." Aaron agreed. "But we'll find something."

"okie." she nodded and went back to looking.

Aaron rubbed a tired hand over his eyes and turned the page. "Looks like there's nothing." he said.

"Whatie now?" the little girl asked him.

"I don't know." he sighed. "I was stupid."

"Your not stuipd." Chloe spoke up, still looking through her paper.

"Yeah right." he said. "Just because I was angry, I've got all of us sitting out here because we've got no place to go to."

She shrugged, "We can get a hotel room."

"That'll ost more money." he said. "And our store is very limited now."

She nodded, "Then we need to narrow our list. Maybe just a 2 bedroom? I can share a room with Lily."
