A World Without Sun discussion

Chloe cocked her head, "I don't think your height matters."

"I'm almost shorter than you." he said. "It definitely does."

Chloe giggled, "Almost, you have me at an inch."

"Yeah." Aaron said mournfully. "I am pretty short."

"So am I." Chloe said giving him a small smile

"No. You're a girl." Aaron said. "Your height is fine for you. I'm suposed to be the tall and handsome one."

Chloe raised an eyebrow, "You use a lot of stereotypes."

"Yeah." he laughed a little. "I should stop doing that." he rubbed the back of his head.

Chloe giggled. "Its kinds cute."

"Uh...thank you." he said. "I don't necessarily like the term 'cute' used on me."

"Sorry." she said and looked away.

"No. That's okay." he said hurriedly. "You can call me cute if you like."

Lily woke up and watched Aaron and her mom oddly, then crawled into Chloe's lap.

"Hey Lily." Aron said, smiling at her.

"Hi, Aarun." she smiled.
Chloe kissed Lily's forehead,"How was your sleep, baby?"
"Good mama." She smiled

"My parents." Aaron said. "They'll be up soon,"

Chloe nodded, "So we just go and meet them?" she asked and hoped it would be that easy.

"Yeah." Aaron said. "Now, it's best that they know."

Chloe nodded and stood up, "Breakfast?" she asked.

"Yeah." Aaron said getting to his feet. "What do you like to eat?"

Chloe shrugged.
Lily hopped up and grabbed Aaron's hand, "Panwakes!" she smiled

"Okay then!" he said with false cheer. He knew his parents would be down by now. "Pancakes it is."

"Yay!" Lily bounced
Chloe let Aaron go first, she was still afraid his parents would throw her and Lily out.

Aaron walked ahead and his heart sank a little when he reached the table. His parents were sitting there, religiously spooning cereal into their mouths as they read the paper. He cleared his throat loudly.

Lily saw the adults and hid behind Aaron's leg.

His father looked up first. "Glad you're down."he said with a nod. "Uh...." Aaron said before his father looked down again. "I have some people I want you to meet."

"Hi." Chloe said getting the woman's attention

His father raised his eyebrows. "Well, a girl." he looked down at Lily and then at Aaron again. "Who are they?" "This is Chloe." Aaron said. "She doesn't have anywhere to stay for now and...." he looked at Lily. "This is her....cousin, Lily."

Chloe was relieved Aaron had said that saved her the time of explaining.
Lily hid more behind Aaron's leg, not wanting the man to look at her.

His father looked sharply at Chloe but didn't ask any more questions and Aaron beckoned to both Chloe and Lily to sit down.

Chloe flinched under Aaron's father's gaze and sat down.
Lily sat in the seat next to her.

Aaron went to get some pancakes and brought them to the table with a smile at Lily.

Lily smiled, "Thank you." she said and starting eating.
Chloe gave Aaron a small smile, too shy to speak and ate.

Aaron sat down next to Chloe, giving wary glances towards his parents. He wanted to get out of here.

Chloe squeezed his leg under the table, telling him it would be okay. They just had to last breakfast then they could leave.

He smiled at her. He'd needed the reassurance. He ate quickly and got up just before his parents finished their breakfast,

Chloe followed his lead and and took their empty plates to the sink and quickly washed them, mostly out of habit. Her stepfather always hated a dirty kitchen, and said goodbye to Aaron's parents and went out of the kitchen.
Lily grabbed Aaron's hand.

Aaron held on to Lily's hand tightly as they walked out and then heaved a sigh of relief. "Thank you." he said to Chloe. "Without you there, I'd never have eaten with my parents."

Chloe nodded, "No problem." She brushed her hair, "That was..."

"Terrifying." Aaron said. "You never know what they're thinking."

Chloe smiled, "I was going for more uncomfortable but ya that too. I thought you read minds?" She said forgetting what his gift was.

"Life seer." he said. " Not that useful when it comes to what I really want to know."

"Only deaths." Chloe nodded

"I don't like seeing deaths that much either." Aaron said, sighing. "I want to know what my parents THINK."

Chloe laid a hand on his shoulder, "Hey, its okay."

"Yeah. It's fine." Aaon said. "Just.....musing, that's all."

Chloe nodded and sighed, wishing she knew how to help him.
Lily tugged Aaron's hand, "Tv?" she asked

"Sure." Aaron said, glad for an excuse to get out of there. "Let's go and watch TV."

Lily smiled

Aaron switched on the TV for Lily and then sat down on the sofa, his legs stretched out in front of him.
