Chloe nodded, "I'll try."

"Good." Aaron smiled. "We should go now."

Chloe flinched, "I don't want to take Lily." Her mother had never met her, as far as she knew Lily didn't exist and she wanted to keep it that way.

Aaron understood why. "That's fine." he said, his face twisting a little. "I'm sure my mom will take care of her."

Chloe bit her lip, "You sure. I can get a babysitter."

"She'll love it." Aaron said. "I'm sure of that."

Chloe nodded and blurted, "Why is she even with Lily?"

"She likes small kids." Aaron said "And since I'm 16, I don't qualify."

Chloe played with his hand, "I'm sure thats not completely it."

"That is it." he said, a little annoyed. "That's all it is."

Chloe squeezed his hand, "Why don't you go talk to her. Like talk to her not just hi and bye."

"You think I haven't tried?" he asked. "I've tried nearly every day of my life since I passsed the age of eight."

"Well try again maybe with Lily there she'll be more...responsive." Chloe said.

"Not now." he said. "I don't want to try again right now." he looked at her significantly.

Chloe nodded and stood up, "I'll go get Lily."

Aaron followed her outside.

Chloe went into the dinning room and smiled kindly at Aaron's mom and went to Lily, "I got to go for a bit, baby?"
Lily frowned, "Where?
Chloe kissed her cheek, "Don't worry, I'll be back later."

"I'm going too." Aaron announced to no-one in particular, not expecting his mother to respond so when she said. "Aaron, you're going on a date?" he was visibly startled.

Chloe jumped and looked at Aaron for his answer.

"Uhh." he said and looked at Chloe. "Not exactly but....maybe...yeah." his mother smiled. "Finally. I was beginning to get worried." "Really?" Aaron didn't know what else to say.

Lily nodded, "She showed me baby pictures."

"Okay." Aaron said. "Thips was a little too much to take in. "I'll come back soon." he promised his mother.

Chloe stood up, "Lets go."

Aaron led her outside. "Where does your mom stay?" he asked.

Chloe told him the address, "Walk or bus?"

"We can go by bus if you have the money." Aaron said though technically I'm supposed to be paying since we're sort of on a date." he smiled.

She giggled, "Is that so?" she said and starting walking toward the bus stop.

"Of course." he said quite seriously. "I'm supposed to be the gentleman here."

"You'll still be a gentleman." Chloe assured him

"So you're paying." Aaron said. "I'll make it up to you soon enough."

She smiled and kissed his cheek and payed their fare and got on the bus.

Aaron went in after her. "Think your mom will like me?"

She shrugged and played with her nails, she wasn't even sure her mom liked her.

"Don't worry." he said, getting a gist of what she was thinking. "Maybe you just don't know her that well. Like me."

She smiled softly, "We don't have to go. Your mom thinks were on a date anyway."

"I want you to go." Aaron said. "Maybe your mom will surprise you like mine did."

Chloe rolled her eyes, "I'll trade you parents."

"Really?" Aaron said. "I would have been pretty happy with that around ten minutes ago."

She giggled, "We can start now?"

"I want to find out of mine really like me or not before the trade." he said. "Now I'm not sure."

Chloe reached over and took his head, "That's goo, right?"

"Yeah. It's good." he said. "Better than I expected."

Chloe smiled happy for him. He probably had a better chance than with his mom than she did with hers. The bus stopped and she hopped off and led Aaron to her mother's house.

Aaron opened the door of his house withhis own key. "My parents are usually too pre-occupied to hear the doorbell." he explained to Chloe.

Chloe nodded and looked around and hoped Lily was alright and still be watched by someone.

"lily will be allright." Aaron said reading her thoughts. "My mom loves her." he rolled his eyes.

"That's good right?" Chloe asked him.

"Yeah of course." Aaron said. "But as my mom's real adopted son, I tend to get jealous."

"Of a four year old?" Chloe asked
