Yahtzee Challenge

Starting late so I will be doing the Alternate task for December and January.

(view spoiler)[Join us in our version of Yahtzee. This challenge will be held from Dec. 1, 2013 to Dec. 31, 2014.

It's a 13 month challenge, with the participant 'rolling the dice' once a month. The dice need to be rolled between the 28th of the month before and the 2nd of the current challenge month. You will then have the rest of the month to complete that month's task.

Only one task can be completed each month. There will be no scorekeeping, instead, you will put the title of the book(s) and date you completed the task next to the task name. This means you have completed that task for the month and you cannot do the same task again.


Random.org Dice Roller- http://www.random.org/dice/

Be sure to set the dice roller to 5 dice for your first roll.

Participants are to roll once a month. Using random.org, roll 5 dice. Re-roll only the number of dice you want to throw back. Do that again for the third roll. You may be happy with your first or second roll. There is no need to roll further.



If you cannot fit your 'roll' into any remaining task that you have, there will be an alternate task to complete. The alternate task will change each month. If you need to use an alternate task, please put the word 'alternate' in an empty task space along with the date completed.

Minimum page count of 125 pages unless specified for the task. Re-reads allowed, as well as audio-books. Novellas will be considered as under 125 pages.

I got a couple weird looks when I made my roll. We were setting up for D&D Encounters and I randomly start rolling dice while on my netbook. It was amusing. ^_^

I rolled a small straight, and I've already read one (of 4) novella! Read it very early this morning when I couldn't sleep.

I have screwed up for Feb and March. I thought Large Straight was reading the books in series order. Just realized it is actually to read an anthology.

Just realized I hadn't updated my post in a while... Longer than I thought, actually. I hadn't updated it this month! (I'd made the rolls and done the challenge, but I didn't have internet access when I made the rolls so I forgot to put it in here!)

My post is now updated. Just waiting another 2.5 hours (until it's the 28th here) so I can roll for June. ^_^

Yes, your own GR to - read or any shelf you use to keep track of the books you would like to read.

This is my first time using the alternate task, but can I admit I'm kinda happy. :D I'm not a huge fan of anthologies, but I was one die away from the large straight on roll one so I figured I'd go for it. No dice.

I kinda prefer the two books to clean up some reads on my TBR. ;)
