David Graham (davidgraham) Hi,

I'm a lover of thrillers and mysteries who was totally unaware of Goodreads until recently. I won a national competition in Ireland to have my book published and in the process of learning about the digital world I was told about Goodreads. I read other genres and lots of history and current affairs but thrillers are my favorites. Within the genre, I like quite a diverse range, I've posted some reviews to illustrate the range e.g. James Ellroy, Robert B Parker, James Lee Burke, earlier work of Eric Lustbader, Simon Kernick, Stuart Neville, Jack Higgins, John LeCarre, Stephen Hunter, Ian Rankin etc.

I'm currently reading 'Legends' by Robert Littell and really enjoying it.

Look forward to contributing.

regards
David

Welcome David. Glad you found us and congratulations on your book. Be sure to tell us about it in the Author's Corner or In the Press, Blogs, and Sites folders.

Don Satalic (donsatalic) | 135 comments Hi David! Welcome to The Mystery, Crime, and Thriller group. Congratulations on your award. I saw your video. Nice editing, and I love your accent. I'm from Chicago, and our accent is nowhere near as pleasant to the ear.

David Graham (davidgraham) Hi Donna and Don,

Thanks very much for the welcome.

Donna, could I ask a question? On my blog, I have written a few short pieces about thrillers I have loved over the years which have nothing to do with my own book, purely as a reader, is there somewhere that you would recommend I post these pieces even as 'cut and paste'? Would the logical place be the Blog section or just as a normal discussion thread? I want to make sure I don't break any guideline.

thanks
David

Lee Mossel | 106 comments Welcome David: Although I didn't note any women authors in your list, I highly recommend you check out Ann Cleeves' Shetland Quartet series set in the Shetland Islands. Good writing, strong characters, wonderful mysteries with multiple surprises.

David Graham (davidgraham) Thanks Lee, will add one to my 'want to' book shelf. I hadn't actually noticed the deficit of women writers before, I did enjoy Patricia Cornwell years ago but failed to keep up with her series.

Bill Welcome to the group, David. John le Carre and Ian Rankin are two authors I also enjoy. Congratulations on your award. I'm thinking the Press, Blog thread might be a good place to discuss your Blog thoughts, or if you have a particular author you wish to discuss, maybe General Discussion thread, or Favouite authors thread... See which most suits what you wish to discuss. I hope you enjoy the group.
