i like the interactions that she had more so with her '2nd family' - that was nice to see that there was a lot of conversation and worry about making her friend feel ok about her life situation. i also really liked the portrayal of Julia's friendship with Picton - that held a certain air of maturity that helped the story.

I agree...at times it did feel rushed....1-2 page chapters and such. And we never got the ending of Simon & Natalie.

Connie, I thought they were both annoying in the beginning and the middle, Julianne more than Gabriel. (he can do no wrong in my eyes) They seemed a little uppity, pompous, too good. Wasn't until 80% in that I was enjoying them again (the real them. the ones I fell in love with in book 1) but the end was rushed. And why the heck was I getting updated in Natalie & Simon?!?!?!! They were horrible characters that I never wanted to hear from again. I'm not gonna lie, I had to push myself to finish it. I didn't have any interest, but I'm glad I did because it ended the way I wanted it to (sort of).

I thought she was a little annoying as well... I had to push myself into finishing this book because I was so in love with them in the first two books. But this book as a whole was a little annoying. I have a question for everyone... Is it me or does it seem that in most trilogy or series book 3 never lives up to the hype like in the first two books?

Oh my gosh Connie.. I was reading your thread last night and then when I was reading three quarters into the book this morning, I was thinking "oh my gosh Connie is right... arrgghhh Julia is so annoying"... Thankfully Gabriel steps up and encourages Julia over and over, she is so insecure, but I guess he was giving my his love and encouragement, what she gave him in the beginning of the book. At some points, I wanted to throw the book against the wall. Believe me it gets so much better. I just finished the book, and it's so worth the read, be ready to cry a little, but the ending is so beautiful.. But I am going to miss Sexy Gabriel :)

I am not sure if you know, this series wasn't meant to be a trilogy. I think that's why the tone is a little different.

Thanks for the encouragement to finish this book. I'll probably finish it in time.

When you finish this book, let me know your thoughts..

Will do

But, for me, she improves in Redemption, I confess that the first chapters I was very angry, she was very infatil and as much like Gabriel, I am even more angry with her. But I think she really grows a little after a few chapters!
The book, well ... I think the book is fantastic! I got the distinct feeling that the author actually aimed to end and give this perfect end his readers. I finished the book with a sense of redemption, of hope, because even the most evil characters seem to have found a path to their redemption...
I think Julianne is too perfect, almost a stereotype of kindness and goodness and, maybe, that's what make her a little annoying... But she improved a lot in this book, in my opinion.
(PS: Sorry about my English stumbles, English isnt my first Language. ;-)

I completely agree with your thoughts about the 3rd and last books in trilogies. They are not as good as the 1st 2. They seem to be useless. They add no more value or interest to the whole story line. It's just a bunch of blah--blah-blah about nothing, IMO. Now it seems authors dont just write one stand alone book. There seems to be a requirement that it has to be a series. To me, a lot of times the story can be interesting and captivating in one or 2 books.

So I continued reading this book and about 40% through. I am at the point ready to throw my IPad through the window. Julia is not only annoying but also selfish and constantly fearing of not finish her education. This is getting old to me. I am at the part where she refused to adopt Maria, an orphan from Italy. I am now dislike her.

I understand not adopting Maria, but I definitely thought Gabriel was going to put up more of a fight or result back to some of his old ways.

Well...I was definitely surprised...what a let down it was, Julienne annoyed me so much I had to stop reading for a while, and I felt it was dragging on and on and on!
To be honest there was no need to write the third book, the second didn't leave us up in the air and I wasn't desperate for more Gabriel.
This is just my personal opinion though!
I will always love Gabriel but I've shut the 3rd book out of my mind and I've left myself with the ending of the second.

Well...I was definitely surprised...what a let down it was, Jul..."
I agreed with you that 3rd book was not necessary. I think it was too religious as well which took the fun out of reading.

It does get better. When you have a chance try to finish it and believe me you will fall more in love with Gabriel ♥♥

I did finish it, sorry but i still think it was unnecessary!

I quite liked her and loved the whole trilogy. Can't wait for the upcoming book!!!

But yeah, I thought she got better as the books went on but still not the most likeable character to me, which is a shame since she's a main. It's a shame since she's a lot like me as far as confidence and such goes, so yeah, it's weird I don't like her as much lol. I really liked Gabriel's sister, Rachel much more.
