message 6: by Laura (new)

Laura (apenandzen) | 3370 comments Just had to pop in and cheer you on. So glad you're doing this! Although it goes without saying you'll chunkster me under the table but it's all good lol! :D

message 7: by Tasha (new)

Tasha don't be so sure about that! I tend to get distracted easily by other reads going on around me. ;)

message 8: by Laura (new)

Laura (apenandzen) | 3370 comments hehe

message 9: by Laura (new)

Laura (apenandzen) | 3370 comments You are rolling along. :) *waves pompoms*

message 10: by Tasha (new)

Tasha I'm excited now that there is a planned list for the early part of the year. :)

message 11: by Laura (new)

Laura (apenandzen) | 3370 comments Do you think you'll be able to stick to it? I'm afraid to post mine because I have a feeling it'll change. I bet you'll be much better at sticking to yours.

message 12: by Tasha (new)

Tasha Well, there is that. I was a little hesitant to post too but I thought, wth, I can always change it around. Deciding then will be as much fun deciding now so it will double the fun if I have to change it around later. ;)

message 13: by Laura (new)

Laura (apenandzen) | 3370 comments Haha good point!

message 14: by Tasha (new)

Tasha :)

message 15: by Laura (new)

Laura (apenandzen) | 3370 comments I'm so glad you have A Soldier of the Great War in your Slick's list! I'm dying to read it. Can't wait. I can't remember the last time I was so excited to read six different books, but Slick keeps calling..... :D

message 16: by Tasha (new)

Tasha me too. The more I think about it, the more excited I get by it. I should have it in soon from the library to take a look through it. I may have to rethink The Goldfinch again...lol. :) Which really, I guess would be ok except that I'd still read it but not get credit for it. Although it would open up a slot for another book, which means more planning fun. God, what a book geek I am. ;)

message 17: by Tasha (new)

Tasha nevermind my comment about the goldfinch. I totally misunderstood the response I got. I actually can use it, lol.

message 18: by Laura (new)

Laura (apenandzen) | 3370 comments I hope you enjoy it! Come on, January! :)))

message 19: by Marnie (new)

Marnie (marnie19) | 3261 comments I have your C.J. Sansom books on my list too. You will get to them before me so I will look forward to your thoughts.

Btw- love your profile pic- very festive :)

message 20: by Tasha (new)

Tasha Aw, thanks Marnie. :)

Have you read any in this series yet?

message 21: by Marnie (new)

Marnie (marnie19) | 3261 comments I've read Dissolution and loved it. I am going to use this challenge to complete the series- can't wait :).

I have Fall of Giants on my list too. If we get to it about the same time would you like to do a buddy read?

message 22: by Tasha (new)

Tasha Absolutely! :)

message 23: by Marnie (new)

message 25: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59958 comments Good job on completing Slick's Slugs. :) You have some interesting titles for Mickey's selections. The Whiskey Rebels sounds intriguing.

message 26: by Laura (new)

Laura (apenandzen) | 3370 comments I just finished it, Janice, it was good!

Your Mickey's list does look good, T. ;)

We have so many Speedy Readies in this group!!! :D

message 27: by Janice, Moderator (last edited Mar 08, 2014 09:33AM) (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59958 comments I'll add Whiskey Rebels to my TBR.

So far, my Mickey's list are possibilities. I have a bunch of audiobooks that I'm holding because they're chunksters, so we shall see what ends up on the final list.

message 28: by Laura (new)

Laura (apenandzen) | 3370 comments I hear ya. That plays a huge role in every book I read, especially these fatties. The audio needs to be available (and hopefully, well done).

message 29: by Tasha (new)

Tasha Yep, I totally copied Whiskey Rebels from Laura. :)

Thanks guys. I am really looking forward to this grouping.

message 36: by Tasha (new)

Tasha Thanks, Peggy!

message 37: by Cherie (new)

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments Great finish, Tasha. I have A Prayer for Owen Meany in the que in my Audible account, but I have a few other books to finish before I will have the time to listen to it. My daugher said it was great!

message 38: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59958 comments I really enjoyed Prayer for Owen Meany.

message 39: by Tasha (new)

Tasha thanks, Cherie. :)

I only gave Owen Meany 3 stars but it was a good, solid read. I would definitely rec it. I bet it would be good on audio.

message 40: by Travis (new)

Travis (travistousant) | 6011 comments The audio for Owen Meany is excellent. I believe John Irving hand picked the narrator to give Owen his unique voice to portray him just the way Irving wanted.

message 41: by Tasha (new)

Tasha Sounds like that one would have probably been a better to do on audio then.
