February is the month for matters of the heart.

So I'm asking for nominations with either a heart on the cover or heart in the title

*The book doesn't have to be from the romance genre
*Heart on the cover doesn't have to be red, it can be any colour
(examples can be found at https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/7...)
*Heart in the title can be a word on it's own
(examples can be found at https://www.goodreads.com/search?utf8...)
OR
can be part of a word e.g. heartland, heartbroken, heartwarming etc.

- When nominating please make sure to include the book link or book cover link. This can be done by clicking on the ' add book / author' link above the comment box.
If not possible (because you're using a mobile app), then make sure you include both book title and author.
Your nomination will not count if not in either of these formats.

- Please refrain from nominating any book that has already been a group read or scheduled to read as part of the Goodreads Choice Award Book Club. These can be found at https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

- Please do not nominate a second (or later) book in a series read (as members of the group may not have read the previous books).
Your nomination will be not be counted if you do.

- Only one nomination per person will be accepted (if more than one is nominated, the first book posted will be accepted).

- Nominations will close on Sunday 22nd December, 5pm GMT and will be followed by a poll.

I know we just did a buddy read of The Rosie Project in October. Do you think it's too soon to suggest for a BOM? It will count towards the Goodreads Choice Awards Challenge too. :)

The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion

Anima Miejska | 1698 comments I would like to nominate Steelheart Steelheart (Reckoners, #1) by Brandon Sanderson

The synopsis:

There are no heroes.

Ten years ago, Calamity came. It was a burst in the sky that gave ordinary men and women extraordinary powers. The awed public started calling them Epics.

But Epics are no friend of man. With incredible gifts came the desire to rule. And to rule man you must crush his wills.

Nobody fights the Epics... nobody but the Reckoners. A shadowy group of ordinary humans, they spend their lives studying Epics, finding their weaknesses, and then assassinating them.

And David wants in. He wants Steelheart—the Epic who is said to be invincible. The Epic who killed David's father. For years, like the Reckoners, David's been studying, and planning—and he has something they need. Not an object, but an experience.

He's seen Steelheart bleed. And he wants revenge.

This book also counts toward the GCAC 2013 challenge :)

Jan I would like to nominate Heart in the Right Place Heart in the Right Place by Carolyn Jourdan

Carolyn Jourdan, an attorney on Capitol Hill, thought she had it made. But when her mother has a heart attack, she returns home—to the Tennessee mountains, where her father is a country doctor and her mother works as his receptionist. Jourdan offers to fill in for her mother until she gets better. But days turn into weeks as she trades her suits for scrubs and finds herself following hazmat regulations for cleaning up bodily fluids; maintaining composure when confronted with a splinter the size of a steak knife; and tending to the loquacious Miss Hiawatha, whose daily doctor visits are never billed. Most important, though, she comes to understand what her caring and patient father means to her close-knit community.

With great humor and great tenderness, Heart in the Right Place shows that some of our biggest heroes are the ones living right beside us.

Sarah | 1467 comments Oh I got one - Heartsick by Chelsea Cain Heartsick (Gretchen Lowell, #1) by Chelsea Cain . The book takes place in the city I live, as well as the author. Listed Stephnn King's top 10 reads.

Damaged Portland detective Archie Sheridan spent ten years tracking Gretchen Lowell, a beautiful serial killer, but in the end she was the one who caught him. Two years ago, Gretchen kidnapped Archie and tortured him for ten days, but instead of killing him, she mysteriously decided to let him go. She turned herself in, and now Gretchen has been locked away for the rest of her life, while Archie is in a prison of another kind---addicted to pain pills, unable to return to his old life, powerless to get those ten horrific days off his mind. Archie's a different person, his estranged wife says, and he knows she's right. He continues to visit Gretchen in prison once a week, saying that only he can get her to confess as to the whereabouts of more of her victims, but even he knows the truth---he can't stay away.

When another killer begins snatching teenage girls off the streets of Portland, Archie has to pull himself together enough to lead the new task force investigating the murders. A hungry young newspaper reporter, Susan Ward, begins profiling Archie and the investigation, which sparks a deadly game between Archie, Susan, the new killer, and even Gretchen. They need to catch a killer, and maybe somehow then Archie can free himself from Gretchen, once and for all. Either way, Heartsick makes for one of the most extraordinary suspense debuts in recent memory.

Renee | 72 comments I loved The Rosie Project. It's one of my favorite books that I've read this year. It was a nice change after reading some heavier books.

I just happened to be shopping for one of my sons at game stop tonight and somehow the conversation turned to books with the articulate, well read associate (refreshing). He suggested Heart Shaped Box by Joe Hill,Stephen King's son. Based on his comments, I'm intrigued and I'm on board for reading it.
