I am having troubles with the non europe..."
Thanks :) I was stuck thinking inside the box!

Good question Alicia, I was just thinking the same thing!
I think I will start up a new thread!

I was trying to do this myself, but couldn't. Chris or Melanti, do either of you two know how?

I only I see an option to delete it.

You can't really hide it and when you view the group, it'll show the 5 most recent posts in each folder.
We could create a "old challenges" folder and move the 2012-2014 threads there, and that should help. But it'd be harder to refer back to them if anyone wants to do so.

Melanti, Just to clarify I'm referring to our Group Home page, not discussions or discussion folders. Right now my view of the Group Home page lists the Currently Reading section, then Challenges, then Discussion Board. I thought the 2014 challenge (which is listed under the 2015 challenge in the Challenges section) might have a setting to automatically hide itself on 1/1/2015 (since the challenge was over on 12/31/2014).
Is there by chance a setting to limit the number of challenges visible on a Group's Home page?
Sorry, I misunderstood! The answer is unfortunately not.
(I had to join and look around on the mod's support group to find the answer.)

So, 2 challenges show at a time. If we make another challenge, the 2014 one will be hidden. (it could be something small, or silly) Otherwise, we can only delete the 2014 one.

What does everyone else think about it? Since only Jalilah and I were looking for a way to hide it, I'm wondering if we should just let it be. It's feel wrong somehow to all out delete an entire challenge.

Originally I tried unsuccessfully to hide the 2014 challenge just so it would look tidier and so people would not mix it up with the 2015. Personally it does not bother me that much that I feel it needs to be deleted.

K. We can leave it up.
I was thinking we could do a short challenge so that there was at least less to scroll through, but I just put up a new challenge and it didn't seem to save enough room to really be worth the confusion it'd cause. Spoiler tags don't work within the challenges either so there's no help there.
Next year, though! If we put up a short 1 line challenge before posting 2016s, that should hide 2015. Hopefully I'll remember.

I am having troubles with the non european fairy tales ..."
I really liked Taliesin when I was younger, but I tried re-reading it a couple of years ago and the Christian overtones grated on my nerves... I really liked The Crystal Cave though. And The Mists of Avalon of course.
For some more obscure selections - if you like Catherynne Valente, she wrote Under in the Mere which is a series of vignettes from the perspective of various minor characters of the legend. I quite liked it. It's been reprinted in Myths of Origin: Four Short Novels which should be much easier to find than the novella.
Jane Yolen wrote Merlin's Booke, which plays with all the different versions of Merlin in the various source material.
I'd recommend Hawk of May to anyone that wants something influenced by Arthurian legends but not something about the main players.
I'm considering The King's Peace by Jo Walton for the category. I've heard it's very good.
For the non-European collection, I'm probably just going to go to the library and browse around the folklore section until something catches my eye.
