Alas, this is my first ever published story. It's short (10,000 words/36 pages) and free for download through Goodreads.
My biggest hurdle when writing this erotic romance was pacing (both in narration and in making time to write/edit this thing). When I was working on the first draft, I wrote the entire second half in one 6-hour sitting to make the deadline, which was extended because I had finals, so I *really* needed to make it happen. That was awful. Then there was the fact that I had to finish editing while I was traveling abroad with little access to wifi. I'm surprised this story doesn't suck more. Haha.
I tried really hard to mesh plot and romance together with a believable build up, and I'm really happy that I was able to put out a story I don't have to be completely ashamed of (expect when I have to explain that it's alien sex... at least I can be proud it's not tentacle porn).
It's funny because I originally wrote it to be a stand-alone, yet everyone keeps asking for a sequel. Dean Koontz quote: “The only reason I would write a sequel is if I were struck by an idea that I felt to be equal to the original. Too many sequels diminish the original.” That's how I feel, and I don't have any awesome sequel ideas yet.
So that's my spiel. Download Roaming Canisters and judge for yourself.
