Happy editing, John! :) It may not always seem like fun but it sure can make it better!

Thanks, Renee. My motto to myself is, "edit, edit, and edit some more...and when you cannot see one more thing to edit, give it to someone else to edit for you..."
:)
It makes it better!

This is why another eye is so helpful. It can catch our blind spots and turn a spotlight on them... ;) Some people are afraid that editing would make them have to "give up their unique voice"--I think that this is usually an unfounded fear. A good editor will not strip your voice out of a manuscript, but will take out what is preventing it from being heard more clearly. Critic is not judgment of our ability to write or the importance of our stories, it is a reminder that what we write will be read by others, and that it needs to make sense to THEM, as well... (if not more than it does to us...). :)
