Both the hero and heroine are multi lingual. Javier is Puerto rican and speaks English and Spanish (maybe one other, more than one other? but I'm not sure on that one). And Laura is Swedish and speaks English, Swedish, and couple other languages.

McGee Magoo Weighting for Mr. Right by Patricia W. Fischer has a heroine that speaks Italian, I think. There's quite a bit in there if I remember correctly. Cute and fun book.
