Welcome All thanks for the intros! I made a few changes here and there if there is anything you would like to see let me know.

My name is Jay S. Levy. I am an author, social worker, and enjoy stargazing, as well as writing and reading books. My work and writing focuses on homelessness... telling people's stories, understanding their values and sense of meaning, while providing an innovative outreach counseling approach for helping vulnerable populations.
Thanks for running the group and inviting us to share!
:-) Jay

I am Chayil Champion. I am an author, life coach, and speaker. I look forward to meeting and networking with you all! Thank you for running this group, Laurie.

I have been away from Goodreads (and a few other related sites) for awhile but hope to become more involved soon. I am also working on setting up a review blog

My name is Margot Justes, and I write romantic mysteries set internationally. My first vampire romance set in Chicago, was released in October. I also write travel articles and blogs.
I'm still learning how to navigate on Goodreads.

I live in the frozen northland of Minnesota, but plan to move to Florida once the kids both go off to college in 2 years, 7 months, and 3 weeks. Not that I'm counting. :)
I am looking forward to getting to know all of you!

My name is Gayle Nix-Jackson and my book, Orville Nix: The Missing JFK Assassination Film will be out soon. Please don't let the "JFK Assassination" part of the title scare you away, as the book is about my grandfather, Orville Nix, and the home movie he took of the assassination. It's not another conspiracy book, rather an insight into how the death of our 35th president not only changed the world, but my grandfather's life as well. Now, if you DO love everything JFK, this book doesn't solve the conspiracy, but it questions those who don't believe in one, to understand there WAS a conspiracy to hide the truth from the people. Wait, someone is pulling me down from my soapbox...oops, okay, off to mingle among the pages.

I'm not a professional writer, just an ordinary person with an extraordinary story I'd like to share with the world.
I've recently publshed my memoir called The Ugly Daughter. Here's the link if you'd to check it out :)

Have a wonderful day.
Julia

Unless asked to do otherwise, I tend to review books based on concept, pacing and continuity. I have a family that has many dyslexic members and so tend to overlook grammatical and spelling errors unless it is requested, or unless it is so prevalent that it throws me out of the story several times.
So I am all eyes for pretty much anything to read.

I'm Tabitha. I'm a newbie Indie author looking to connect with other authors, bloggers, reviewers, etc. I'm thirty-two years old. I teach AP Lit. and Comp. as my day job. About a years ago, I took a deep breath and shared a novella that I had written with a fellow indie author and dear friend, who has been very successful in recent years with her own work and has become a full-time writer. She encouraged me to self-publish.
I'm not fame-and-fortune seeking (although I'm sure we can all agree it would be nice, ha ha). In truth, I strive to create meaningful "art" with my writing, and wish to share that with the reading community. Books and music have had a deep, soulful impact in my life. I am a more creative and conscientious person due to the stories that I've gathered over the years, both through my voracious reading and through the family and friends who have shared their stories with me.
Currently, I have two self-published novels. I am happy to send anyone a free copy of either in exchange for a review. Because I am writing under a pen name (my books aren't particularly scandalous, but as a school teacher..you know), creating a presence for myself has been a challenge.
Happy to be a group member!

Hey Jett. Nice to meet you. I'd be thrilled to send you a free ecopy of either of my novels if you are interested. The titles are "Requiem for the Fallen" and "Finding What Is" by Tabitha Vohn. Let me know if either of them interest you. Thanks for being willing to review books!!

I am young author who was recommended to this group. Friendly editors supposedly?
I've held an infamous reputation with my personal book, due to it's poorly written structure despite the story potential that it carries.
"Hell development" may be the proper term, but regardless, I hope to find a way to make my story properly written...
Hello all, my name is Kristen Marquette and I am a Michigan author. My latest book, The Creaking Tree, just came out. It's kind of a fairy tale for adults. I have four other novels, Shakespeare's Sister and The Vampiric Housewife trilogy. I look forward to connecting with my fellow book lovers.

I'm currently writing my first book a fantasy novel. I love to read fantasy, sci-fi and YA.

I'm Stephanie, nice to meet you.
I'm a bookworm, librarian, editor, and sporadic blogger. I've edited for lots of indie authors, a few of whom have even made to the NYT best seller lists. Not that I'm claiming credit for that. But hey, I did manage to protect them from the embarrassment of a misused homophone.

My new novel "The Dude Who Did Dictionaries" is now available on Amazon via Kindle Direct as a KDP Selection - www.amazon.com/dp/B00M0DUI8Y
Frank Flutie is a lexicographer who has waged war on the "perils of adultolescence" by leaving a high-paying job as a copywriter for an advertising company called The Banker and taking a low-paying job in a bookstore instead, ostensibly so he can write the first ever all sexual dictionary.
The "war" (and his dictionary), however, aren't going particularly well and, under the stress of his "self-imposed exile" from affluence, Frank has become petty and fatalistic -- "a shit hoarder whose dictionary would be better utilized as a flyswatter, a doorstop, or a paperweight".
Always broke, but too proud to accept charity, he rarely sees his few friends and cannot get the virginal Marlene in bed because (or so he believes), "If you got no dough, no woman will love you."
On the mantle in Frank's shabby apartment is a sickly but unkillable pet sea lamprey -- a jawless fish he abhors as the banner of the sort of "clockwork universe" he is fleeing from in his downward spiral.
In the course of his misadventures, we become grindingly aware that his radical solution to the problem of the money-world is no solution at all -- that in his desperate reaction against a monstrous system, he has become something of a monster himself.
"The Dude Who Did Dictionaries" is a behemoth valentine to Boston and a gritty, sprawling, depiction of today's recession-inflicted state of affairs.

I'm currently a college senior, but I'm looking to go into the editing/publishing industry after I graduate.
I would love to hear from other editors who have advice about the industry!

Hi Sherry, I would really appreciate that! Would you be willing to read the first three chapters and give me some feedback. If you are interested after that I would love for you to read the rest.

I'm J.B., a student and an aspiring author. I'm currently trying to get my most recent book published, but I'm still in the querying process. I'm really excited to get more involved in the goodreads community!
Oh! And I have a blog, J.A.Y.A., which I've been using to document my (long) journey to trying to get one of my books published! I'd love for you guys to check it out sometime! :)

I am a self-published author of twelve books - nine for the M.G. age-group and three for grown-ups.
I also have work published in several anthologies which includes short stories, flash fiction and poetry.
I'm now going to trot over to the Promotions Thread where I can tell you a bit more...

Hi. I'm Kasi Blake, and I used to write sappy romance books for Harlequin. Now I write action-packed paranormal books for teens (and anyone else you wants a fun, clean book). How I Met Your Mother was one of my favorite shows... until they killed off the mom and had Ted chasing after Robin again. Lame! That's why I'm here. The title of the group caught my attention. It's legen-wait for it-dary. haha
