What did you think of seasons 1 and 2?

I made the mistake of buying both seasons on a Christmas special in Paris, thinking it'd be fine because you can watch it in the original English. What I didn't realise, is that all Sherlock's text-thoughts when he's analysing something, would be in French :(

I love Cumberbatch's Sherlock. He's so funny and misanthropic. I like the style they've given him (compared to the other modern Sherlock, Johnny Lee Miller). Those suits and coats look really good :) Also Cumberbatch is quite cute with a fantastic voice.

Episode 1: A Study in Pink

I guessed who the villain was in this one, because I'd read Conan Doyle's story - A Study in Scarlet. I was annoyed that Sherlock took so long to figure it out, but maybe I wouldn't have realised it either. Other than that they completely changed the plot.

Love it when Sherlock's jumping around saying it's Christmas because there have been four suicides and the last one left a note :) I hate that cop who calls him Freak though. Bitch.

Just one thing about the ending: (view spoiler)[Sherlock starts telling Lestraude what kind of person the shooter must have been, but stops when he sees John, realising that John killed the killer. Why doesn't Lestraude catch on? Even if he doesn't know that John was in the army - I can't recall if they told him - he learns that later. As a cop, he should have been observant enough to notice Sherlock's reaction. (hide spoiler)]

I also love Cumberbatch's Sherlock! I agree with his voice. Have you seen his voice impressions on youtube? He is amazing!

What do you think of Mycroft and Moriarty? (view spoiler)[When they first make it look like Mycroft is Moriarty in season 1, I was disappointed the first time I saw him. Then a bit disappointed again when we see Moriarty in the third episode. He just wasn't what I expected. He was properly psycho in season two though. I thought the actor's performance was great. I will admit as much as I enjoyed the various guesses - I was far more tickled by Jon! And the fact that Sherlock simply didn't fore-see any of Jon's reactions! LOL

I just want to say that S03e02 is my fav episode so far! Loved it! :)

I watched the first 2 episodes and 3/4 of the third episode of Season 1. I really enjoyed it so far. I know they are trying to show Sherlock as a very eccentric genius, so I am not going to comment about him rolling on the couch in the beginning of episode 3 like a sulking teenager *grits teeth*. I also feel that they drag out the ending of each episode a bit . . . (maybe I am just used to the quick resolves of American series')

I really enjoy Watson. He is not much of a partner yet, I am hoping that his opinions will start getting greater showtime in future.

Lol, I actually liked his sulking and rolling on the couch :)

His misanthropy and problems with social interaction are starting to bug me though. In Guy Ritchie's Sherlock movies and in the Elementary tv series, Sherlock can be grossly insensitive, but is a fundamentally decent person. BBC's Sherlock is a total asshole, except for the brief moments of affection and trying to save people he cares about. Most of the time it's funny, and I often interpret his behaviour part of a deeply dysfunctional character that - realistically - would not be very likeable, but I think sometimes the show pushes it too far.

What he did to John in season 3 episode 1... (view spoiler)[Using a prank to tell John about his faked death I can accept. Sherlock's social dysfunctions stop him from realising how upset John would get, and he quickly realises that he's made a huge mistake. But then at the end of the episode he lets John think they're both going to die, causing John to forgive and flatter Sherlock. It's a really horrible bit of manipulation and ego stroking on Sherlock's part. It also makes John look quite pathetic for continuing to hang out with Sherlock. A few punches doesn't make up for the way Sherlock humiliates him. Unless the creators are trying to emphasise what a jackass Sherlock is and how pathetic John is for clinging to him out of sheer admiration? (hide spoiler)]

Finished season 3. Despite my problems with the first episode, I'm feeling a lot better about Sherlock's behaviour. Well, except for the bit where he (view spoiler)[dated Lisa and proposed to her just to get access to that guy's office. Wow. Just... I can't even. What a fucking asshole. At least she got her revenge and got rich in the process.
On the positive side, it's nice to have confirmation that Sherlock is not a virgin. I thought he'd be dreadful in bed either way, but Lisa seemed happy enough, lol. (hide spoiler)].

Otherwise, what a totally crazy season! There were some moments of utter shock - (view spoiler)[MARY!!!! And Sherlock shooting that media guy. (hide spoiler)] - and lots of WTF?! moments because of Sherlock's insane behaviour - (view spoiler)[pranking John to reveal that he was alive; his speech at John's wedding; his extra-crazy speech when he tries to figure out the killer; revealing why he was dating Lisa (hide spoiler)]. So, issues with episode 1 aside, a very entertaining season.

I agree it was a super crazy and entertaining season!
