Dangerous Hero Mega-Challenge 2014
Duration: January 1 - December 31
Option E: Dangerous Hero Scale
Instructions: Rank the heroes from ten books with dangerous heroes that you read in 2014 from 1-10 according to their dangerous hero quotient.
10/10 completed
Dangerous Hero Quotient Key:
10: Completely lethal, seemingly remorseless, has no problem killing to get the job done, or killing as the job. Killing someone doesn't phase him. It's either him or them and don't let someone be after someone he loves. More or less amoral-except when it comes to things that have true value to him (like his heroine or his family). The mission is all that matters to him (at least until he falls for his heroine).
Shane Dean - Forgotten Sins by Rebecca Zanetti == 01/13
9: Not the guy to mess with. He has few boundaries he won't cross.
Dane Black - Die For Me: A Novel of the Valentine Killer by Cynthia Eden == 02/28
8: He can be ruthless. Not above doing almost anything for self-promotion. Has and will betray those close to him if needed. He has a code, but it's his own code--not necessarily in line with established laws, rules, or mores.
Jericho Barrons - Darkfever by Karen Marie Moning == 08/01
7: Most people would probably consider him insane or crazy, or just kinda whacked in the head. A scary guy.
Ty Grady - Stars & Stripes by Abigail Roux == 01/23
6: Ruthless to get the job done, or to get what he wants/needs/or to protect others.
Trace Rivers - Trace of Fever by Lori Foster == 01/02
5: A hero who still has the aura of a bad boy, but is more laid back and open and not necessarily quite as ruthless. He's not the type that is completely unpredictable.
Zane Garrett - Armed & Dangerous by Abigail Roux == 01/04
4: He has shown that those who mistake him for a ordinary, nice guy are wrong. He'll surprise you!
Jackson Savor - Savor the Danger by Lori Foster == 01/10
3: He will do 'bad' things for reasons he feels is necessary, and not feel too much regret about it. He has no problem claiming, kidnapping, or taking his heroine when the situation calls for it.
Raul Vega - - Staking His Claim by Lynda Chance == 01/06
2: Slightly more volatile than a 1. Most of the time he is very well behaved, you just don't want to get him riled up!
Dylan Harper - Harper's Bride by Alexis Harrington == 01/05
1: Mild-mannered most of the time, but when his fuse gets lit, watch out. He becomes the most dangerous man in the room.
Brandt McKay - Cowgirls Don't Cry by Lorelei James == 01/08
Option F: Dangerous Historic Heroes
Instructions: Read one book for a minimum of eight of the most common dangerous historical hero types. One book per hero type.
5/8 completed
1. Scottish/Highlander warrior
2. Knight: Desire by Amanda Quick == 06/03
3. Archer
4. Duke: Romancing the Duke by Tessa Dare == 02/13
5. Gunslinger or Outlaw
6. Sheriff: Gunfighter's Bride by Dallas Schulze == 03/31
7. Native American Warrior
8. Gambler or Rogue
9. Ninja/Samurai/Warrior of Eastern Martial Arts Disciplines
10. Historical Spy: Thomas Montrose - Promise Me Heaven by Connie Brockway == 02/23
11. Mountain Man
12. Pirate/Bucaneer/Privateer/Brigand of the High Seas
13. Highwayman or Thief
Bonus - Cowboy: Luke Butler - The Rancher's Virgin Acquisition by Lynda Chance == 02/17
Option G: Mission Impossible
Instructions: Your mission is to create your own action/adventure/caper dream team. Read a book with a character who fits a minimum of five of the below types.
5/5 completed
1. The Brain-mastermind of the caper/mission: Vicious - Grabbed by Vicious by Lolita Lopez == 02/09
2. The Brawn-the physical fighter of the crew: Trace Rivers - Trace of Fever by Lori Foster == 01/02
5. The Con-Man—This crew member is good at pulling the wool over any person’s eyes: Jericho Barrons - Darkfever by Karen Marie Moning == 08/01
6. The Marksman—The shooter who never misses: Shane Dean - Forgotten Sins by Rebecca Zanetti == 01/13
