-The Troop by Nick Cutter Takes place on an island
7/7
Let's try this:
✔1. Start a new series.
Apocalypse Now Now
✔2. Read a book by an author you've never read before.
Taylor Swift: The Unofficial Story: Platinum Edition
✔3. Read a book in which the main character tries to make a new start and improve their life (whether or not it works :)
Birthright
✔4. From the holiday season back to the real world. Read a book where a major character overindulges (in food, alcohol, drugs, sex, etc.) and then has to deal with the consequences. Note: this should be a significant feature in the plot, not just a few drinks followed by a hangover or something.
Immortal Beloved
5. New Year's Resolutions: they never last. Read a book in which the main character breaks an oath or promise.
Again, something significant.
✔6. But hey, it's a new year and it's good to be optimistic. Make a New Year's Resolution, tell us what it is, and read a book related to it.
- Spend more time with my Rabbits
The Rabbit-Raising Problem Solver: Your Questions Answered about Housing, Feeding, Behavior, Health Care, Breeding, and Kindling
✔7. What event are you looking forward to this year? Let us know and read a book that's related to it.
It can be a wedding, a concert, the publication of a book you're looking forward to, etc.
- My wedding!
The Troop

Sorry, I never make new years resolutions and then I could lie and say I made one but that wouldn't be fair. So this challenge was impossible for me to finish. But it had some interesting tasks that we may want to recycle in another challenge. :)

Well I am a stickler for the rules, so I didn't think it fair because then I could think of something easy that fit the book I happened to read. Unfair advantages and all that. I am a moderator after all. :)

Yeah, you just had to read a book you got from NetGalley. Very clever.
It was a good and easy challenge. The resolution wasn't the only reason I didn't participate. It was right smack in the middle of all my internet and computer problems, which made it hard for me to update stuff. I still haven't got all my files back and all the programs installed on my laptop, but I am getting there.
