Goodreads Librarians Group discussion

Hi, guys!

I *think* I'm a librarian... on my GR profile page, it says I'm I librarian. I set up the pages for both my books (ONE TO HOLD; ONE TO KEEP).

I can update the stats for my book ONE TO KEEP, but when I try to update the stats for ONE TO HOLD, I get the BIG RED BAR that says "only GR librarians can do this."

That's weird...

?????

Because author's have partial librarian rights. There are a lot of things authors are not allowed to do [for a reason]. You need to post here what you need help with.

I've reset the stats, but it can take time to see a change [if there was a change in the stats].

I just thought it was odd that I could adjust one book and not the other.

Anyway, thanks so much! That was a big jump--like from 523 ratings to 602.

You created the record for One to Hold, which gives you some extended editing permissions on it that apparently extend to stats refreshing. The records for the other book were actually created by other sources; you only added more details to those records. That's why the difference, I'm pretty sure.

(You are listed as a "top librarian" because of your editing of these records. These are counted as librarian edits even if they are done under permissions which are not technically "librarian" permissions. The top librarian stats are compiled by country, so if there aren't a lot of people active in your country you can rise quickly!)

I actually created the listings for both books.

If you would, please update the ratings stats for One to Hold. And if possible, please fix it so I can do this for this title. That's all I'm really interested in.
