I started Sunshine this morning. I'm about 1/4 of the way through and love it! Is anyone else reading it right now?

I have been pleasantly surprised by this book. I admit going into it I was thinking it would be a bit more Twilightish - but it is much different. The mood/setting of the story, the looming sense of danger, the characters (I like Sunshine's attitude and sense of self), the mystery and complexity of the magic...it is a good mix.

Jennifer (featherlashes) I just finished! I really enjoyed the story and how the writer brought vampires back to disturbing, dark creatures. I loved Sunshine and Constantine's characters. They were amazing leads! The story is very creative and original, and I agree with Sheri that there was a good mix of elements in this book. I have to admit though that I think I would have enjoyed the story even more if it were shorter. I found myself zoning out at times during these frequent, long-winded monologues. This is my first Robin McKinley book and I plan to check out some more titles by her! Great BOTM selection!

I agree with you Jennifer. There were times during Sunshine's inner monologues where I was wondering if I could skip over without missing anything :)

Also all the -er-s and -um-s in the story. The sentences in conversations were really broken up.

Tracey (addicted_to_reading) by the third part of the book, i was ready to give up. but that's when Con got sexy and the chemistry between him and Rae was amazing. that last line in the book was everything.
