Ann (goodreadscomanniegirl) | 19 comments Thank you to Elizabeth and Dot--yes I have read all of Lisa See's books also...I am very happy that you were able to meet her not only for your pleasure which I am sure was fantastic but because she had not published for several years and was I knew she had Lyme Disease as she described in "The Opposite of Fate" and I am overjoyed that she has recovered and once again is publishing.

Not to make light, for those of you who were nabbed by said individual; but wouldn't that make a great premise for a book!

I totally agree! I only have 9 "friends" on here and out of those 9, only 3 that I know in real life and trust me, I sent like 75 invites to people I know!
So far, i really like this group and I LOVE GoodReads!

Bette Crosby (bette_lee_crosby) | 1 comments Hi, I'm Bette Lee Crosby, a Goodreads author and avid reader - I write Southern Fiction & Women's Fiction - and that's probably what I read the most. However I am currently reading "The Night Circus" (Paranormal or fantasy I think) and it's magical.

Love to be friends with some of the glas in the group, friend me and I'll be very glad to accept.

Dorothy (vilette) | 27 comments I have this book on my "to read shelf" and was trying to decide between that and Half Blood Blues to start this evening. Since you are reading The Night Circus, I'll start that! Thanks for making the decision for me!

Heidi Angell (heidiangell) | 211 comments http://www.youtube.com/user/HeidiAnge... haven't done anything in awhile as I have been working on getting my children's book, Royal Prince Vince, published and helping a friend edit her book, Angels and Warriors, which will come out in December. I will probably do reviews on them next. Would you be interested in doing a review on them?

So exciting that you are writing a book! Very cool. I've been working on a children's book, hopefully one day it'll be up & running!

message 74: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Angell (heidiangell) | 211 comments It is A LOT of work, especially because I chose to self-publish. It is really hard to get a children's book agent. For some reason they are not that popular. I don't know why. I probably spend more on books for my kids than I spend on books for myself ;) But I guess not every household reads like mine!

message 75: by sonya (new)

sonya marie madden | 441 comments If I had kids I'd want them to read. I'd pass that gift of knowledge onto them.

message 76: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Angell (heidiangell) | 211 comments I come from a whole family of readers. We have book shelves overflowing. It was just natural to do the same with my kids. My husband doesn't come from that sort of background and grumbles at the cost ;) Fortunately, he has embraced it, but tells me that when we move I am on my own with the boxes of books!

message 77: by Reyna (new)

Reyna (reynalay) haha, I know what you mean, I've thought about self publishing also... good luck w/all those boxes! We love reading also, my son has tons of kids books!

message 78: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Angell (heidiangell) | 211 comments Meh... my hope is that we'll be able to hire movers ;)

message 79: by Lucy (new)

Lucy (mesdupmoi) | 334 comments Hey.

message 82: by Lee (new)

Lee Lopez (leealopez) | 1 comments Hi I'm Lee. I'm a e-book author, who loves to read as much as write. I just need to make time for both. I love all genres, although I write mystery/thrillers. This group I hope will push me to arrange my time so I'll read more. I do miss it. I love hearing what readers have to say about books. It's a good learning tool for a author. Excited to get started. Soon as I sign off I'll down load this months selection.

message 83: by Mirvan. (new)

Mirvan. Ereon (mirvanereon) | 71 comments Hi I am also an ebook author. I wanna read your work and I would also appreciate if you read mine too. I will be supportive so much to the ones who will support me too.

message 92: by Claire (new)

Claire Fullerton (clairefullerton) | 14 comments I read a book called "The Mermaids Singing" by Lisa Carey and it is an exceptional, lyrically written book with Ireland at its heart. It is one tale told from the perspective of three generations of women in an Irish American family. If you're looking for a great read, this is it!

Susan May (susanmaywriter) | 2 comments Hi, I've just discovered what an awesome place Good Reads is after shelving books here for years. It just looked too complicated. Now I get it. And I'm here to stay. Love this place.

Oh, my name's Susan by the way and I'm a dark thriller author from Australia. Great to meet you. :)

Steven Moore At last, a multi-genre book. I'm first and foremost an avid reader and read both fiction and non-fiction. It was like a refreshing margarita to find this group!

message 97: by Sam (new)

Sam Tindal | 1 comments Hi I'm a very late newcomer to this group, I don't know how I never found this group before as I read literally every genre from classical books and plays , history books , art books art biographies and autobiographies to modern fantasy and feminist books to Tom Clancy and thrillers /Cold War thrillers , horror , sci-fi, murder mystery Dorothy B.Hughes to Dan Brown and literally anything else that looks exciting or interesting. I have three children All grown up now and a Black Feral Cat that moved herself into my yard then into my home who is curled up on my lap when I read or go on my iPad. I'm @samantasienna on Instagram and I really can't get interested in Facebook although I do use Twitter.
Thanks for keeping this group open I look forward to seeing what happens next .

message 98: by Steven (new)

Steven Moore Hi Sam,
I just received an email about your post and want to welcome you, although I'm very new to the group too.
It's great to see another avid reader who's not very constrained by genre labels. I just finished Isaacson's Leonardo Da Vinci and wrote a review for Bookpleasures. The author mentions Dan Brown inre "The Last Supper" (I won't say whether the nod was positive or negative).
FB is taking a hit right now, and I refuse to use Twitter. With the exception of one author's group (not here), I like to be with fellow readers who want to chat about books.
Again, welcome. Let's make this group come alive again!
r/Steve
