Robin | 263 comments Tasmanian Devil's Trouncers: Books 19 - 24

Robin | 263 comments Buzz Lightyear's Bombers - 25 - "To infinity and beyond"

(Though my goal is to read 25 books in 2014, I know some of mine with be combinations, so therefore I highly doubt I will reach this level.)

Robin | 263 comments I'm so happy to actually be finished with my first chunkster in the slick's slug!

I did some rearranging today adding in Cinder. I will probably have to do more editing/rearranging, because I'm beginning to think I may not actually read Lone Wolf...so I may have to replace that book. Figuring out the connections with whatever I replace it with may be tricky, but I'll figure it out.

message 7: by Marnie (new)

Marnie (marnie19) | 3259 comments Yea- on finishing your first chunkster. I've rearranged my list a bunch too. I have both of your YA books on my TBR - hope they are good reads for you.

message 8: by Robin (new)

Robin | 263 comments Finished another book! Wooo! I now have 4 books to read and then I will have read all of the books I set out to read for the slick slugs. Though I might completely rearrange some things. I'm evaluating the situation. I would like to read Scarlet next. And I want it to count towards something. So I might add that in and bump The Fault in Our Stars, but then I'd have to connect Winter Gardento Cinder. I haven't looked into what this connection could be.

But I certainly could have a connection between Winter Garden and The Storyteller...which there is not currently one, b/c of Winter's Tale in between. I'd kind of also like to just throw out the "Why Aren't You Sweet Like Me" book, if I could. Hmmm
I have some thinking to do on this.

message 9: by Robin (new)

Robin | 263 comments Finished Scarlet! Still haven't restructured my list just yet. I have just 3 books to read and I'll be finished with the Slick's Slugs! I may just stick with the "Why Aren't You Sweet Like Me." Even though I'd really like to throw it out. decisions...hmmm

message 10: by Robin (new)

Robin | 263 comments I did some more reorganizing! I completely removed the 2 Anne books from Slick Slugs - they are now on Micky Mouse Marchers! I added Cress to Slick Slugs. And I have finished Cress! I still however have one more book to finish before I will be have completed my slick slugs. And its that book I can't really get into. :(

message 11: by Cherie (new)

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments Oh, too bad you can't get into it. It seems short compared to the others though. Is it bite the bullet time and stick it out or can you find another?

Janice (jamasc) | 59907 comments Almost done, Robin. Don't you hate when the goal is in sight, and you feel bogged down?

I have both Scarlet and Cress in my Mickey's Marchers. I am really looking forward to reading them!

It is short compared to the others! I'll probably just bite the bullet and finish it.

Scarlet and Cress were so good. I can't wait til Winter comes out....but that's going to be awhile!

Robin | 263 comments Last night I tried to read some in Why Aren't You Sweet Like Me?: Based on a True World War II Love Story and was not very successful at all. So I am going to officially abandon it! I don't really like not finishing books. At least this was a free book I downloaded in Kindle edition when it was a freebie.

I think I have a replacement for its spot! I picked up a few books at the library today that were on sale! One that also has a "W" in the title so that will work for the connection...I think! I hope so! I'm going to make this work some how!

Robin | 263 comments I am finished with the Slick Slugs section!!! Whooooohoooo! Finished The Girl Who Stopped Swimminglate last night. Much later than should have been.

Debby Smith | 21 comments Thanks Robin. I learned a lot from reading about your links between books and editing the order.

message 18: by Cherie (new)

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments The swapping and moving books around seems to be a common theme in all of our lists, Robin.

Congratulations on finishing your Slick's section.

Looks like a good start on your Mickey Mouse list. It is fun to see all of the books that everyone comes up with.

@ Debby - figuring out how to make the links gets easier. Just have fun with it. There are as many ways to do it as there are books to read!

message 19: by Robin (new)

Robin | 263 comments I finished 2 books over the long holiday weekend (4th of July)! Though it didn't make one complete "book" for the chunkster challenge. I am making progress, on some pretty great books.

I have started reading Annabel, it shouldn't take me long really if it is only 35 pages! So I'll probably start Hanaafter that and then Pandemonium. Since I'll be listening to Pandemonium, I could probably "read" read another book too. As long as it isn't similar. So maybe I'll return to the Anne books and read Anne of Windy Poplars, I'm pretty sure that will be pretty different than YA Dystopian. LOL!

message 20: by Robin (new)

Robin | 263 comments I have finished the Delirium series! I really liked those books, and highly recommend them. Now I've started reading Anne of Windy Poplars but that will probably move slow for me.

I may need to find a way to work in The Giver b/c I'm going to reread this book - b/c of the movie coming out. It has been years!!

And I also just picked upOutlander at a yard sale...and that series started on Starz (a network I do not get...) and the book is over 500 pages! Yay! So I think I need to work that in as well. :) So reconfiguring is likely to happen!

message 21: by Robin (new)

Robin | 263 comments Finished Outlander! And I really want to read Dragonfly in Amber soon which is soo long as well. There may be even more reorganizing happening soon!

message 22: by Cherie (new)

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments I just got the first couple of Outlander books on audio, but they are each over 23 hours long. I hope you liked the reading!

I just got Dragonfly in Amber from the libary on audio and book...and the audio book is 33 CDs! Ah! I started reading the book. Only on page 40 so far.

Robin | 263 comments Well crap! I just realized why things were showing up differently on my tablet. B/c I had crossed out The Fault in Our Stars and The Choice.

Now I must figure out a way to rearrage and get The Choice back in there at the very least.

Currently I am reading Anne of Windy Poplars.

The only book I can really eliminate is The Book Thief and I could possibly put The Choice where The Snow Child is...

But I've also got the small issue of the fact that I'll probably be starting to read Voyager soon and I'll want to include it...b/c it is really a chunkster! But how can I make room for it as well?!
Problems!!! Gah!!!

I rearranged a few things, but will have more rearranging to do later.

Part of me just wants to strike out the whole list and write the revised one below it!

Since the Anne books are striked out but I am reading Anne of Windy Poplars. It is likely I'll unstrike those soon.

Also likely that Voyayer will just be the first book I read on the next part of this challenge. Unless I just cut books out I've already read and not include them. Gah!
