It's time to sign up for the 2014 Goodreads Challenge. I've set a goal for 100 again, though I might end up adjusting that down. What's your goal for the year?

I went down from 50 the past two years to 30 for 2014; more realistic for me.

I set it at 120. My reading slowed down toward the end of 2013, so I feel comfortable with this number.

Same as always for me too: 100, even though these last couple of years I've reached 125.

I always set my goal at 48 books, or 4 books a month. It's comfortable and allows me the freedom concentrate on longer or heavier books without feeling pressure to just get through it. Last year I finished with 65 books, but I'm not sure I can continue with that pace, so I'll strive for 48 and just see where it takes me.

I've set at 220, more than 2013 and less than 2012 (that was an stressed year).

I've set mine to 150. Hopefully I can read more than that.

I set mine to 35 this year since I have other projects going.

I'm starting with a goal of 225 books for 2014, but may adjust that as the year progresses.

I'm at 125 this year again. I barely met goal last year so no way am I going any higher this year.

I think I'm going to up mine from last year to 200. I read so many more books last year than I thought I'd have time for, so I'll see how I go with 200. I had 200 in 2012 and it totally stressed me out.

Last year my goal was 120 and I increased it a few times as I kept surpassing the original and new goals. Set 2014's goal to 130.

I set mine to 208 but will probably adjust that as the year progresses. I read over 300 books in 2013 but at times it felt a bit too much...

I'm going for 100 again this year. Last year, I hit 134, but I'm trying to save time for writing.

My goal is 52 books this year. Last year I read 58, 2 short of my goal of 60 books. This year I plan to read some of the longer fiction books in my TBR. I don't want to feel like I'm rushing through or to pick shorter books just to meet this challenge.

My goal is going to be 100, though I may increase it as I go. I know I read at least 70-80 books last year (and wrote reviews for 69 of them on my blog) so I know I can read at least 100! I have over 300 in my TBR pile...and I just keep adding to it, so I have plenty to read!

I set my goal at 110. This is back to my normal goal after being down last year.

I'm going for 100. I know I read more than that, but I've been doing a lot of rereads lately, and those don't count for my GR total since I don't change the date of my initial read. Also, I have the bad habit of forgetting to post all my reads so they don't officially count. Maybe I'll be better at that this year.

I set my challenge for 150. I read 120 in 2013 and I'm now retired, so I think I can make my goal.

Wow, lots of people accepting the challenge this year. I'm in awe of all those trying for 150 or more. I've finished two so far, so I'm already two ahead of where I was this time last year.

I think 30 is a realistic target for me.

I'm in the 150 category, too. Last year I read 175 which is A LOT for me. Guess I must have had a quiet life last year. I take care of my 94 year old mom and, although her health is good, she sleeps a lot. I've certainly picked up many good books at his site. Thanks for all those who post and review.

I have tried for 120 the past two years and actually read more than expected. I will go for 125 even though I read something close to 140 in 2013.

last year I set it at 140 and read 192. This year I'm increasing a bit to 150.

Unfortunely i have read only 1 book.
It's been a busy January for me. Hopefully it will die down soon so I can hit the books hard.

It's interesting to see where everyone is at the start of the challenge. For those who are behind, don't give up. I was down 5 or 6 books at one point last year and managed to catch up. ☺

I've read 12 of 100 books, 3 ahead of schedule. Of course, the bad weather that kept me inside made it a lot easier to get reading done!

I kept my reading goal at 50 this year as I always do, but last year I read 85 which really surprised me. At 50 I don't feel quite so pushed and just enjoy the reads. So far I've read 11 this year.

25 out of 195, 7 ahead .

I upped mine from 52 to 60. I am at seven ....2 ahead f schedule. I did decide to include 12 classics. The first one Pride and Prejudice did slow me down a bit. Cozies can be read much quicker.

Sharmon: The classics defintiely tend to take a bit longer. At least P&P is worth the time! ☺

I set my goal at 41.

Judging by how much I read in January, I have updated to 96.

Two months down, still doing well. I am 19/100, or three books ahead.
