Kirsten (kmcripn) I have read 18 books so far, and have adjusted down to 72 for the year.

Melodie (melodieco) | 5280 comments As of yesterday is was 26/110 and it said I was on track!

message 54: by Keith (new)

Keith (kkidby) | 1 comments I am amazed that some of you can read over 100 books in a year. Well done to you all.
I have challenged myself to 48. 19 read so far, so it's going pretty well.

I've done a lot of rereading that just won't count towards GRs goals. :(

The trick is to enter a reread as a different edition. That's what I've done on the rare occasions I've reread something -- which is usually years after the initial reading.

message 57: by BJ Rose (new)

BJ Rose (bjrose) | 1887 comments I don't count rereads towards my total either, like the one I'm reading right now, but I take that into account when I set my goal for the reading challenge. Even so, I'm 11 books ahead of my goal, according to GRs.

message 58: by Jill (new)

Jill | 4 comments My goal is 25 but I have already read 12 so I may increase my goal.

message 59: by Leslie (new)

Leslie ஐ Briansgirl (Book Sale Queen)ஐ wrote: "I've done a lot of rereading that just won't count towards GRs goals. :("

I just put the old dates into that private notes area and then I can get the reread dates to work for the challenge.

I have read 78 out of 208, so 26 ahead of schedule!

Leslie aka StoreyBook Reviews (hugbandit7) | 170 comments Thanks Heather! Having a book review blog and booking myself helps with that number! I'm now up to 64 books

message 61: by Karen M (new)

Karen M | 1436 comments I'm 25 out of 125 and I'm behind 5 books. I guess I need to read a few shorter books. Lately, I've been reading 320, 350, 400 page books. The one I'm almost done with is 502 but my next two books are both 278 so maybe I can do a bit better than 5 behind. The nice thing is these books are all very good reads.

message 62: by Lynn (new)

Lynn (lynnali) | 524 comments 16 of 48. I'm pleased, considering January and February were slow months.

I can't believe we're into May already! I am still managing to stay four books ahead, with 37/100 read so far. I have a couple "heftier" tomes ahead of me this month (group reads for other groups), so I'm hoping that lead doesn't slip too much.

❂ Murder by Death (murderbydeath) We just finished with school holidays here, which gave me time to get ahead on my reading. Until 3 weeks ago, I was just barely keeping on schedule, or running one book behind. A two week reading binge now has me ahead 8 books. :D

message 65: by Linda (new)

Linda (rudylkr) | 8978 comments Still 2 ahead! 38/110

message 66: by Paula (new)

Paula | 15 comments I've read 38 of 72. Guess I'm doing okay. Wish I could speed read sometimes when a book gets slow. Lol

message 67: by BJ Rose (new)

BJ Rose (bjrose) | 1887 comments I'm 12 books ahead of schedule - maybe it's time to set my goal a little higher. Will see what May brings and then adjust accordingly.

message 68: by Melodie (new)

Melodie (melodieco) | 5280 comments I'm one behind right now.

message 69: by Tonya (new)

Tonya De Lige | 177 comments Last I looked I was 7 books behind. Better get reading!

I hear that! I'm wishing I could speed-read through my current book. :-\

bb. (magnumopus) | 7 comments I've read 23 out of 50 and I'm pretty pleased with that. I make a habit of reading at least 5 books per month. With the rate i'm going, hopefully I can surpass my goal this year. :-D

message 75: by Misha (new)

Misha (itz_mie) have read 16 of 30 books so far...... 6 ahead of schedule

message 77: by Ashley (new)

Ashley (ashielizz) | 450 comments My goal is 100. I started off great this year but I've really been slacking the last couple of months. I think I'm in a slump. :(

I can't believe we're in June already. I am currently 48/100 and seven books ahead of my goal. It's nice to have that padding when you hit a book that takes more than a week to get through, such as my current read, East of Eden.

message 79: by Diana (new)

Diana Gotsch | 29 comments I am at 61 of 100. That includes a couple of cook books and several smaller books.

message 80: by Linda (new)

Linda (rudylkr) | 8978 comments I'm at 49/110 - 4 books ahead! I agree Heather, it's always nice to have padding, you never know what will happen.

message 81: by Melodie (new)

Melodie (melodieco) | 5280 comments I'm at 48/110 - 3 ahead! Nice to get a little ahead. I'd been running behind!

❂ Murder by Death (murderbydeath) 94/200 - 11 books ahead, which is allowing me to read some weightier history books without stressing.

Ah, someone who appreciates "padding" as much as me and Linda. ☺

Still somehow managing to stay ahead. According to GR I am currently at 57/100, or eight books ahead.

message 87: by Karen M (new)

Karen M | 1436 comments I'm 57 of 125 and 5 books behind. I've read a couple of novellas but I have some longer books coming up so I just needed a few short reads to kind of make up for A Dance with Dragonsin it's over 1100 page glory which put me behind from the start. LOL

message 88: by Heather L , Cozy Mysteries Moderator (new)

Heather L (wordtrix) | 27504 comments Mod
Karen M: Yeah, those 1000+ tomes can really do you in. Here's to catching up! ☺

message 89: by Melodie (new)

Melodie (melodieco) | 5280 comments I'm at 59/110 or 5 ahead.

❂ Murder by Death (murderbydeath) I'm 7 ahead, but I'm hoping to widen the gap over the next two weeks (school holidays, so I'm off work).

*Blinking*

Is it really August already? How did that happen? The summer (for those of us in the northern hemisphere) seems to be flying by at alarming speed. Our 6-week Concert on the Square series ended this week, and back-to-school sales are in full swing.

Challenge check-in: I have finished 65.5 books in my goal of 100 (I'm halfway through #66), or seven books ahead. I think I'm going to be grateful for that cushion this month, as there are a couple classic group reads I'd like to try and tackle.

Marisa (moretta) | 4144 comments Mod
I'm 127/221, 1 behind. Well, I've not been in a reading mood this month (rereading comfort reads mainly), so it's normal.

message 97: by Melodie (new)

Melodie (melodieco) | 5280 comments I'm at 72/110, or 8 books ahead! Pretty good since I was behind for 2 or 3 months!

Melodie: Yay, congrats on getting ahead! ☺

Marissa: One behind isn't that bad, and is easy to make up. Hope you're feeling better and in more of a reading mood soon! :)

message 99: by BJ Rose (new)

BJ Rose (bjrose) | 1887 comments I'm 4 books behind, but I had a non-reading family reunion in July, so I should be able to catch up.

Thank you, Heather. I'm starting to feel better, yes (on vacation now, so it helps :) )
